He wasn't on either end of the goals nor did he assist on them but Drogba steps on the field and bam two goals. I honestly thought Japan would be better.

Wow, thank you.

Can someone explain how the hell that 3rd goal by Costa Rica was not off-sides? He was pretty clearly behind the defender.

Maybe I'm not understanding the rule correctly.

No problem. I should probably clarify those are the more famous players. When I looked at the list again I noticed tended to think of rising stars and veterans that get the most talk and publicity where they might not actually be the best players yet/anymore.

Once the ball is passed, a player is free to get behind the defense. It is only offsides if you are behind the defense before passing you the ball.

Do you think it gives the USA extra confidence seeing these other CONCACAF teams succeeding considering that we beat them all?

Germany, Ghana, and Portugal is a tough, tough draw.

I don't think confidence is high.

I don't think that the opponents talent level really affects a team of professionals confidence in the World Cup. Look at Costa Rica. Completely written off by everyone and they are currently the top of their group.

Ecuador and Switzerland is pretty wide open so far. Shaqiri on Switzerland is an absolute beast. World class player.

Also, Italy looked so legit last night, wow. A real contender there. Precision and their game plan, passes were dead on, the plays they had..very impressive. Scary good. Dang.

That is really cool.
But how do they recover their equilibrium crossing the line so often? The toliets on the north flush clockwise and the ones on the south? Counterclockwise. wow.

Huge goal, but I didn't find either side impressive. The fitness by these Euro squads has left a lot to be desired.

Also-- Amazing refereeing that game. The last goal was only possible because the ref played an advantage that many refs woulda blown the whistle on.

I honestly think I might dislike Honduras as much as Mexico. I strongly dislike the way they play.

I can not for the life of me figure out how they have enough money to get a team to the world cup. I'm guessing huge corruption going on in that city. I was there a few years back, the citizens and the country as a whole need so much help its ridiculous. Poorest country in this hemisphere.

I said the same thing to my dad. I HATE France almost as much Mexico and England, but I was hoping France would win 10-0. Honduras is the dirtiest team in this year's World Cup and then at the slightest contact they go down like there is a sniper in the stadium. They are late on every challenge, and then point towards the ball like its gonna be a throw in. Biggest buncha bitches in this tournament.

Like Izaguirre, obviously, but aside from that I don't like Honduras either, but rooting for France? Just can't do it.

Will say this, even my boy Emilo seems to be a different player when he puts on the national jersey vs the Celtic one... I can say rather honestly he's not much of a 'strikingly dirty' player with FC... But he's making quite to reputation with Honduras this year

I understand why they are doing it but can ESPN just stick to British or American commentators. The Spanish guy is fine but all these South American commentators on the half time shows are barely understandable. Especially the Brazilian (silva?)

Expected more from Argentina but they definitely controlled the game and Messi got a wonderful score. I'm content. They should be able to build on this solid win.
