I don't project Kareem as a WDE, big-time edge rusher though. Kareem looks more like a Rochell 2.0 in my eyes.

I think the consensus (which I agree with) is that he's similar to Rochell but sacrificing just a bit of size and power for pass rush. Still definitely a strongside DE, and is the real deal IMO. Combine that with a high level WDE you've got yourself a perfect combo of DE's.

Rochell is a 3-4 DE that just has enough athletic enough to be effective as a 4-3 SDE.

Yup. I think having a combination of strong bull-rush/run-stuffers paired with slimmer quick pass rush guys are ideal for both WDE AND SDE. I think Kareem may fit the bill this year as the pass rush guy behind Rochell....I sure hope so cause that would significantly improve our D IMO.

O/U 2.5 commits within the next week? I'm saying way over with MacCollister, Young, Carter, Pouncey and a mystery commit all jumping on board.

I don't want Pouncey, give me Michael Young and then let's wait on big time players.

I'd be shocked if we only have 2 additional commits by June 26th. I'll bet all my vbucks we have 3 or more.

Doesn't he run like a 4.6? I like Young better. He has nasty in him as a football player, not just as a WR. He has like 3 blocking highlights in his first 2 minutes which goes to show he just likes to hit people, like a young Golden.

I want to wait and see what the big dogs do, St Brown, T. Black, and Jones from Texas. I only want one of Young and Pouncey and I'll take Young.

both young and pouncey are timed at 4.6 lol

I like young alot too, pouncey is a long strider, he might be a better DB

Yeah but I'm not calling Young a blazer like Panda made it sound. I like him for other reasons.

Two things:

1. Denbrock has earned the benefit of the doubt in terms of who we offer, take, etc. with respect to WR recruiting. If he likes Pouncey, then Pouncey must be pretty damn good.

2. I don't quite understand our DB strategy this cycle. Carter strikes me as a big hitting safety that won't be fast enough to cover anyone at the next level. We've already got one if not two of those in Spencer Perry and DJ Morgan. I'd prefer we keep taking whacks at true FS's rather than recruiting guys that will be liabilities in coverage at SS.

Pouncey averages what? 30yds per carry in the Florida Bigs? And you don't want him as a receiver? (!!!!!)

Again. Wait until he gets to college. He has an explosiveness that is awesome.

He will not be considered a WR with mediocre speed. Bet on it.

With all of the data, I'm going with Young and the Holmes next. Just a big stretch at all.

I'd say this is the safe choice and I'd be very surprised if we didn't land both at some point. I'm guessing we'll get one or two more kind of surprises that attended II. Maybe a couple 18 guys. Maybe Sarell...Who knows. I imagine they all had very positive experiences but I wouldn't want to turn down paid visits to other big schools if I was 17/18 either. We'll see.

I mean you can still take visits if you've committed. I don't think big schools would pass up on the opportunity to try to flip you, but if you're not as highly touted as a guy I can see how it'd be tough to land OVs at top schools

How many commits does everyone think we end up with? I ask because with Robinson retiring and not counting Blankenship...we're currently at 83 scholarship player with 73 still having eligibility after this season. With thirteen commits now we're already over the 85 man limit. Obviously not all 5th year candidates will be asked back and there will be early defections

Loaded question. It has always been, and will continue to be, a fluid number. Someway, somehow the staff will sign at least 20 in this class. Practically every class for that matter will be larger at the end than predicted at the start for the reasons you mentioned.

A more thorough dissection into the rosters number crunching will be laid out by fall camp. After the summer recruiting dust settles and situations like Blankenships are vetted, the more educated our guesses will be.

Who will be up for 5th years? That'll usually give us a better indication.

Haha, so your that guy. That's too bad, you can't be excited about really good players right in front of you, lol.

Chill, I was just wondering. I am definitely excited and happy for the recent wave of commits. That being said, I am not a film guy or an X&Os guy, so I do have to take the rankings at face value.

Zaire, Folston, Hunter, McGlinchey, McGovern, Bivin, Smythe, Matuska and Montelus all have a 5th year. Watkins, Nelson, and Nyles Morgan are the only Juniors I could possibly see declaring early if they have a good season and draft grade.

I'm still hoping Daley pulls the trigger. Not sure when his visit is rescheduled for, but I think he's going to commit soon after stepping on campus.

I don't want to play the Speculation Game, but that list could see just 4 players return, realistically.

It could be one or two more/less, depending on how things work out this season.

If Kizer is the starter...then he would be a possibility too. I'd say the number for this class is probably 22-23.
