Who would you like ND to play?

If Notre Dame were to finish the season 12-0, which I believe we will. Which team would you like to play the most in the National Championship game in Miami.

I want to play Kansas State, because I think that would be a great match up. I have so much respect for what Coach Snyder has done at K-State. Plus I think this would be the easiest opponent out of the other two undefeated teams.

Oregon in my mind is a great OFFENSIVE TEAM, but I'm a little worried about their defense which hasn't gone up against a GREAT offense yet this season. I am rooting against the Ducks this weekend.

Oh, how I would love to play Alabama in the National Championship game in Miami. Our defense is probably the only defense outside of the SEC that has the ability to stop that Bama run game. Notre Dame and Alabama have had a lot of great match up's in the past, and a game against these two teams would AMAZING!!

Bama....just so I can go into roll call for the next week saying "Go Irish!" to **** off my Sergeant's and LT. Hell, I'll even be rolling down the streets playing the fight song on the PA! I cant stand Bama fans and the barage of ROLL TIDE that I have to hear on a daily basis.

Of the unbeatens, I'd love to play KSU. We're better than they are. They have a more refined offense, but our defense can shut down anyone except maybe Oregon and USC. That was proven to me last Saturday. We'd beat them most times.

Bama. Best chance to win would be against KSTATE, but I believe we would match up well with Bama. And I'd rather win the NC against the team that is perceived to be the best nationally. Imagine ND beating an undefeated Bama team... literally any and every detractor out there would look jaw-dropping stupid. And this new era of ND football would not be questioned again any time soon.

If we play and beat KSTATE, some will still say that the SEC beat up on each other and the best team didn't even play for the NC.

Kansas State. I think we would slow down their Klein-dependent offense and they haven't faced a physical, smashmouth offense like ours and they won't all season.

Oregon is still somewhat a mystery. We'd give Bama a game but they are so talented and they have championship experience. If we find our way too Miami, I want to win the dam thing.

Agree with both of these for the reasoning. But I don't want the easiest win. I want the more accomplished win. The win that will shut everyone up for the foreseeable future. That, w/o question, is a win against Bama (or LSU if that somehow magically worked out).

I think this is debatable. I personally don't think ND could stop Oregon's offense. They may slow it down, but they won't stop it. When OU ran their hurry-up, they threw the ball all over us and moved the chains rather effortlessly. I think Oregon runs the fast paced offense better than anyone, and that seems to be ND's Achilles heal. If we had to get into a shootout w/ another team, I don't trust our offense enough to put up an absurd amount of points. With that said, I'd much rather take our chances and battle it out against another physically dominant team who seem to play our style of smash mouth football.

Alabama is as solid as they come.

Oregon might score 30 before we figure out how to defend them.

OU moved the chains because we allowed them to. We were protecting the big play and stopping the run. We wouldn't have to do that against Oregon. They are a soft, run-first spread. They don't even rank in the top 50 teams in passing offense. Their defense also doesn't look dominant to me. I think we would shut them down.

If you look at the rest of the top five, you see tough, physical teams. Then there is Oregon. They're soft and I believe that someone will smack them in the mouth before the season ends. I'm not worried about Oregon.

I'll withhold getting into a debate about this until I actually watch them play a decent team. If they destroy Stanford, then yes, I'll still have a problem matching up against them. If I not, then I may change my tune a bit.
