With Nds luck they will hire Diaco... Bob will then take half the staff with him, just before signing day and most of our current class will end up at rutgers and with Urban Meyer ( somehow, someway).

;)

Seen a lot of comments on Rutgers' coaching articles about fans wanting Interim Head Coach Kyle Flood to be made the permanent Head Coach.

Supposedly he handles a lot of the recruiting.

I don't want him to leave, but if he goes, it better be after NSD. I think this will all blow over with Diaco getting a mysterious raise in pay!

I think Ralph Friedgen is a great candidate for the Rutgers job. IMO

Hell of a coach and got a raw deal at Maryland.

But I do agree with YJ and I think they are hard after Addazio. If they can't get him I think its Cristobal.

Yeah. Frankly, his general awesomeness aside, there are bigger candidates than Diaco. And Rutgers, while only in the Big East, is still a BCS conference team in a major media market. They'll want to make a splash.
Diaco's not quite that. He's never been a head coach. He lacks a lot of big wins. And he's only got two years at a major program on his resume, unless you count Virginia or Cincy as major. Compared to Addazio, or the guy from Vandy, or Bradley from Penn State, he's just not quite in the same league. He will be soon, but not quite yet.

Yeah stlnd01... that's always been my feeling. I see absolutely no reason why Diaco would even be considered for this job over about a dozen other potential candidates out there. Smells like complete BS but we'll see.

Flood is the logical choice, i am confused why they just don't go with him and run it for a season. If they do any worse then last season you can let him go. i am sure a better hire will be available after next season.

It's all about Damage control. Schiano left really late it would only make sense to promote at this point.

i cant believe politi was wrong he is wired in jersey

but thamel (nyt) is as credibel as they come

RU better hire from within before a line of guys like dominoes are rumored to be offered and turn down the job one after an other that would be a pr nightmare

I think it's a smart move by Cristobal right now. He has the roster he wants, the coaches he wants, and the team is his. He would be making a lateral move to Rutgers which is in a declining Big East.

Flood was announced shortly after Cristobal declined. A little surprised he (Cristobal) didn't leave FIU. Glad for Flood, as I think he's a good guy, and likely best for recruiting.
