I hope we can do better than Enoch Smith and Trumbetti on the DL.

Overview for those without premium:

Basically a hypothetical class that we could end up with in 2014. Has us taking 19 commits:
QB Dawkins
RB Hood
WR Andrews
WR Brent
WR Scott
TE Blazevich
OL Bars
OL McDermott
OL Byrne
OL Mustipher
DL Hayes
DL E. Smith
DL A. Williams
DL Trumbetti
LB Martini
LB Morgan
LB Bates
DB Quick
DB Gibson

Definitely lacks the star power of class of 2013, and obviously has no chance of playing out exactly like this, but if you told me this would be our exact 2014 class I'd be ecstatic. Nothing but 4 and 5 stars, 16 of 19 in the original Rivals250, and hits needs.

That offensive line pull would be amazing, especially following last years class.

Could use some more bulk and elite names in that front seven on defense. It will be interesting to see names pop up down the line if we put another 10+ win team on the field.

I asked Sapp in the TV thread who we looked good for at LB and DB since recruiting this year seems to be offensive skill players, OL, & DL heavy and he said Nyles Morgan, Andrew Williams, and Juju Smith

That would be baller, would love to add Starks to the mix and swap Enoch Smith/Blazevich for other prospects but I'd sign up for that class right now and never look back.

Not sure who Dan Helm is:

6m

Dan Helm said if #NotreDame were to offer they'd easily be among favorites. What else did IL TE have to say? (Free)

Would take this class and run like I stole something. The only exception I have is Jeb...still need to understand his speed. I thought that I saw it posted at 5.01 in the 40. I know 40 times are suspect and folks like to talk about "football speed"...but yikes!

I've noticed we are in a great position with several very good to elite recruits, and it's still only March.

Isn't the Blue & Gold Game a bigger recruiting weekend than Junior Day this year?

It was looking like it could be, but some tentative visits got cancelled most notably Sony Michel

Right now the only visitors are Mark Andrews, Justin Brent and Jay Hayes. Still time to add more though

I never really thought we stood much of a chance with Michel, even though we were in his "top" schools. I think I like Starks more anyway

Would be dissapointed if Thomas Holley isn't a part of this class. The sky is the limit for this kid.

I love that Brent, Hayes, Greer, and hopefully Trumbetti, seem like they are really about to start hitting the recruiting trail. hopefully Brent can make it up for a lot of unofficials when other prospects make it up to South Bend.

Those of you that have seen Brent' film, what do you think? I thought he looked very slow for a WR, but I can't recognize speed very well.

Looks like the speed of a normal receiver to me

Yeah but you love every recruit, lol.

Edit: Just watched his film and he does look good. He's not a burner but he's probably 4.6-ish and athletic.

Well I'm not gonna dislike any of our commits. I don't think Justin Brent will get playing time until his junior year

I think it's OK to question our current commits and staff offers as long as we keep it clean and don't rip the recruit/commit. I was puzzled when the staff offered John Turner.

I was also a little confused with John Turner.

I think you might be talking about Corey Holmes from Thomas Aquinas in Florida. He is my favorite receiver in this cycle

Bingo. BTW, when you said he was your #1 want at WR for this class, the posters that commented on that had some funny rips (i.e., the Cubs joke).
