I'd be more accepting if he had a better offer list. If he had Alabama, LSU, USC, Florida, FSU, etc...then you'd know he was an elite talent. I heard he played well in the Semper Fi game though, so I'm not completely discounting him as a good player. Sorry, but he's not Shep/Darby/Poole.
It's not holding up a recruiting class for one guy if you already have others that are already verbally committed/signed. Supposedly Darby was upset about the staff continuing to go after corners when they supposedly said they weren't. Why not prove to him that he's the one they want and go get him? If they miss, it's not a huge blow because Shep is on campus as we speak and like you mentioned, we're still in it with Poole. I'm not seeing your correlation here w/ the Weis regime. If Tee wasn't signed, then I totally agree with you. But that's not the case so that's apples and oranges, imo.
