Where were you for the '93 FSU game?

Proof that the gold seats can stand. I don't know what happened but it's really bullsh*t that our stadium is that much quieter twenty years later.

IDK, I sat pretty close to you for the Michigan game and it's impossible to compare from watching a youtube video, but that night the noise was comparable IMO if that makes any sense.

Winning builds pride which builds fanhood though. They had good reason to be crazy in the stadium at that time.

Of course, there were no gold seats in '93, but yeah I'm sure the bench seat equivalent was probably not too old and was standing and cheering at that time.

The Michigan game had a great noise level when the crowd was up, but it doesn't even seem close when you compare the CONSTANT noise.

Yup, while I wasn't at '93 FSU, my grandparents and parents were at that game. They were also at '05 USC, which I was in attendance for. They said that '05 game atmosphere/noise level was comparable to the '93 FSU. '05 is probably still the loudest and most sustained that stadium has been in the games I've been to.

There was some very decent crowd noise for Michigan game this year, but in comparison to '05 USC and '93 FSU it's not even close man. My ears were ringing after '05 USC, it was intense. The crowd was good this year for Michigan, but I didn't get that same feeling.

Sophomore year of high school and I live in cocoa fl at the time. Being a ND fan after that game was great. I think I wore my jersey all week.

Just watched the entire game for the first time. I'm now pissed about '93. I was always led to believe that the 93 game was crazy close. For 3 and 1/2 quarters that was a complete ass kicking. It never felt like Notre Dame could lose that game.

Honestly, grey... I credit the crazy close feel to Charlie Ward.

That guy was flat out electric, and always a threat until the end.

I know, but dude the game was seriously over with 8 left in the 4th. Notre Dame had to have been pushing over 8 yards a rush. You just never felt it was "hard" for Notre Dame like it was for FSU. State would get some momentum and then ND would come out on offense and just steam roll.

I was 16 and madly in love/ obsessed with Notre Dame football! My parents would buy me an annual subscription to Irish sports report and my room looked like the room on display in the bookstore Christmas catalog. I always sat 5 feet from the living room tv in the Irish canvas fold chair( still got it). I would have the ISR turned to the page with both teams roster.

Not much has changed since then...like most here I go crazy most plays, but now I stand in front of my 60'inch plasma swig pabst and post random nonsense on IE between plays...

I was there. 20 rows up, opposite end zone. Most spectacular game I have ever been at. Also had tickets to BC the next weekend but was unable to go due to work commitments. I blame myself for that loss. Still.

opposite end zone: if you have to ask, watch the game

I was 33 rows up. Opposite end of the last play too

10 years old, and had just opened up my 10th birthday present - a trip to South Bend to see Notre Dame play in the stadium for my first time the following week vs. Boston College...

I think that's because you're watching it now knowing the outcome.

I was 41 and watching the game at home. I know we controlled most of the game, but I never felt comfortable until it was over. You knew FSU wasn't going to go quietly.

Our run game was so legit. Becton was beastin'.

As the number 2 team though, we carried that dog mentality, and relished in it.

It was such a beautiful game.

Thanks for posting that.. I forgot how I was screaming that every td we scored they would catch up and push us in the back...I mean wtf! We would score play core then all of a sudden some coward rushes up and pushes our guy in the back...still pisses me off!

50 yard line.

Only person I know who, before the FSU game, predicted we would win that game AND lose the following week to BC.

But I did not predict we would get shafted in the AP poll, in the end, especially in light of how the AP voted in 1989.

Chillin in my dad's sack for another 3 years. He was there so technically I was there.

Same minus 2 years. He tells me every year how bout he got so plastered before the game that he fell asleep in the stands for the first 3 quarters.
