Defense is good, not great

Cierre Wood is the real deal

Tommy Rees is the future

Except for Floyd, our WR's are very inconsistent

Special teams are horrible

Maybe John Goodman should return punts again

Hopefully we can let all the BS threads die down and refocus on the season there is no need to start new threads about every thought you have.

General...

The offense gained over 500 yards, but the turnovers killed us.

The defense was solid. Only gave up 16 points.

First half was atrocious, second half mediocre.

Individuals...

- Tommy Rees is our guy.
- Dayne Crist was not as bad as we made him out to be, but he certainly wasn't good.
- Cierre Wood was outstanding in the first half. Running with a lot more power and determination.
- Jonas Gray. Ugh.
- Michael Floyd. Nothing else need be said.
- TJ Jones made some nice plays, but he dropped the two most important passes.
- Theo Riddick was absolutely atrocious.
- Tyler Eifert was excellent in the second half.
- Ben Turk is horrible.
- Offensive line was very good. Great protection and good holes for Wood.

In general I agree with you but while the defense only gave up 16 points, they had some crucial stupid penalties.

I think their worse than inconsistent. They are much to short to compete at this level and when they get the chance to catch the ball, they don't.
Why didn't we throw to Floyd in the first half?! Really?! Was it Crists Fault or Kellys?

Before the hand-off at the goal line I said to myself... please do not hand it to Jonas Gray. Bam - fumble and TD... big momentum shift and loss of confidence. Lots of time to recover but we did not.

I will congrat you on your win, but let's not go all suck it like that. In 30 years of watching ND football, that was the most incredible amount of bad turnovers. I will not accept that your D credited them. Except for the strip on first possession, they were just bad throws or freak plays.

What we learned is that Dayne Crist will never be as good as Rees. We also learned that we should have hired Skipp Holtz because his team was ready and executed with lesser talent.

Also our team played with undisciplined and needs to be addressed. Too many penalties and critical times.

Michael Floyd had 10 catches for 115 yards and 2 TDs in the second half. He could have 100+ catches this year with Rees in the shotgun.
