Pikachu using the PDP Wired Fight Pad Pro (GameCube style controller). I am basic AF.

Solid choice. I'm partial to Ike.

Bummed none of my favorite beat 'em ups (X-Men, the Simpsons, Turtles in Time, Alien vs. Predator) are available on Switch yet. They're all caught in a weird state of licensing limbo, so unless Fox grants them permission for another release, Konami and Capcom just have to sit on them.

Belmonts or GTFO...

It's not broad but it's damn quality, even just the first party titles. Smash, Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, Mario Maker, Mario Party, Donkey Kong, etc. Those are years worth of games for me.

Cloud saves are shared between devices, boomer.

First, good to see you posting again dude...

Second, I guess I see that, it's great if you're super into Mario games... I'm KIND OF into all that. For maker, I haven't played, is the learning curve in stage creation steep? In my mind I think, "That would be great to build levels for my youngest but I don't want to spend an hour plus per level..."

Last, Dead Cells and Bloodstained have been the saving grace for my Switch interests... they desperately need another non-Mario classic game like Zelda (Metroid, Castlevania, Punch-Out, Ghost and Goblins, Double Dragon, Ninja Turtles, An updated Spy Hunter, Hell, how is it that they haven't made a new Duck Hunt on some console???)

I love the Belmonts (and their stage is aesthetically one of the best), but it's super annoying to play against someone who's good with them. They've arguably got the best ranged attacks in the game, so they can zone you out repeatedly with ease.

Glad to hear you've enjoyed Dead Cells! I was worried after your last few posts on the subject, since it sounded like you having trouble getting into it.

The next Zelda and Metroid Prime 4 have been already been in development for a while. Nintendo always releases at least one new installment in each of its major IPs on every console.

I'm trash at level creation, I mostly just play. It's infinite 2D Mario levels. Nothing better in gaming.

Speaking of which, do you have my copy of Super Mario World? Can't find the damn thing for the life of me.

Kirby Star Allies, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, and Yoshi's Crafted World are both really fun couch co-op games for parents and younger players. "Arms" is one of the smoothest motion-control games I've ever played (thought admittedly not justifiable at $60). Lots of people like Splatoon 2.

Seriously though Lion, I think it's the greatest console ever made. The game library is insanely good and the portability is a game changer.

Bold statement. The library statement gives me pause too. Aren't there like...5 exclusive titles on the Switch that aren't rereleases of Skyim, Dragon Quest 11, Diablo III, Minecraft, etc? Most of the exclusives are all rehashes of their popular titles too: Mario Kart 57, Smash Brothers 26, Mario Party 75, etc. I'll give you this though, Breath of the Wild is a redeemer. I borrowed my brother-in-law's Switch to play that one, but I haven't seen a reason to pick one up for myself since.

As opposed to Uncharted, Spider-Man, God of War, Forza and Halo? Everyone's best exclusives are sequels, reboots, and spin-offs.

You're pretty hardcore into PC gaming aren't you? The Switch isn't for you.

AS they should, again, Belmonts or GTFO.

I like Dead Cells... I just wish I could unlock a few better weapons, at a certain point grinding out the same runs over and over is a bit redundant. Bloodstained has totally taken my time on that genre tho since it's come out.

The next Zelda and Metroid Prime 4 have been already been in development for a while. Nintendo always releases at least one new installment in each of its major IPs on every console.

Metriod needs to hurry the hell up and they need MORE... I recognize Zelda as a great game but the two franchises that simply interest me the least from all those discussed have always been Mario and Zelda... hence me sitting here with the Switch all ready to party but feeling kind of like:

I'd trade both my boys at this stage if they'd just make a Breath of Wind styled Castlevania throwback... like use that game engine but do it for a remake of Castlevania 1.

I'll have to check what I have of yours but off the top of my head I don't think so. I've had a copy of that for YEARS now, but maybe you sent me a second?? If I have more than one copy I'll assume teh other is yours, I know what save is on the one I've had all these years.

Hopefully that means Star Fox and another Donkey Kong are on the way, too.

This would be good as well.

So on Mario Maker, wiz said he doesn't make levels but that it has unlimited mario levels... so I assume there is an auto-create function? If so, can you tell it what level of difficulty you want??

There are 100 Nintendo-made levels loosely organized into a story mode. The "infinite levels" are created by other users. Yes, there are different difficulty levels.

That's fair. Once you've unlocked all the runes and most of the weapons you'd want, the only thing left to do is farm cells for Forge runs in anticipation of higher difficulties (1 SC, 2 SC, etc.) That's where I lost interest and switched to other titles. Still thought it was worth the ~$20 I paid for it though.

A Castlevania Action/RPG?

A Castlevania Action/RPG?

It'd be so glorious... Simon travels the Transylvanian countryside in an attempt to find a way into the fortified castle... after battling through and unlocking whatever it is you need, you enter the castle for the last quarter or so of the game... it would be so glorious.

They released a couple games like that on N64 that I enjoyed. The graphics were janky, but they were still fun:

Konami also released three similar games between 2010-2014 in the Lords of Shadow series.

The first one was well rated, but the second two had very mixed reviews, so I never picked them up. Did you play any of them, Aaron?

Has anyone played Hideo Kojima (famous for Metal Gear) new game, Death Stranding?

Maybe it's not out, but I thought it came out in May.

It comes out in November. I will be buying as I have a hard on for Hideo.

You fuckers all talking about Metroidvania's and no one will buy Hollow Knight even though it's insanely cheap for its size/ quality/ depth.

I discussed here earlier this year that 64 was one of the only major consoles I never got into... just Goldeneye and Crusin that I can remember. I HATED lords of shadow tho... it changed the canon and I hated the God of Water like style. The game(s) I think they should build off are more Lament of Innocence... that was a game limited by it's console but it had the right idea. Go back to the OG story and keep it simple...

Everyone I have talked to that has played it says it's amazing and then I go to get it, watch a video or two and the animation style just kills me... lol

I've got you, fam. It's been on my Steam Wishlist, but I've moved it up to the top based on your word and the reviews. Next sale I'll get it.

My faith has been restored in you all. Ulukin, let me know if you get Monster Hunter World. I want to play it, but it seems like you need party members to have a great time.

I'll get it at some point (Monster Hunter World), but it'll probably be awhile till it hits a big discount. I don't really buy any titles for $59.99 these days, not unless they're gifted to me. I usually wait a year or two and get something for $30 or less. Even with Hollow Knight at $14.99 I could probably just get it now cause that's a real good price for a game with Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, but I know there will be another Steam sale probably in the Fall and I can probably get it for $10 or less. I'm a patient man...and a man on a gaming budget these days  My backlog is so full of games I haven't gotten to yet that I'm okay waiting a bit longer to get some titles cheaper. I finally picked up Witcher 3 during the recent Summer Sale, but I haven't installed it yet.
