What video game are you playing?

Asking this again. Has anyone played the new Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Survive?

Maybe there are no metal gear fans here. I want to get it, but would have to also join the PS4 online community which is an annual charge I currently don't pay, so just seeing if it's worth it.

Favorite series I've ever played.

The lead creator of the series is gone and this is a quick cash grab by Konami using phantom pain assets. It's been almost universally disliked.

Love MG, still play Phantom Pain alot. As you know Kojima is not with Konami anymore and Survive is a total shitshow, terrible game by all accounts. I wouldn't bother.

I never played the Silent Hill series. Did Kojima create those, or was that Konami (the company)? If those were by Kojima, I'd give them a shot. I really liked that dude's style.

I can only find that he was "involved" with Silent Hill, whereas he basically owned Metal Gear.

While still at Konami, and having finished the Phantom Pain, He was meant to develop the 9th installment Silent Hills along with Guillermo del Toro (starring Norman Reedus from the Walking Dead). Of course then when he parted ways with Konami the project was canned.

He never worked on any of the previous Silent Hills games. Although they are Konami titles.

Kojima has his own studio now and they are working on a game called Death Stranding which will star Reedus along with Mads Mikkelsen (Danish guy, was in James Bond movie) and Del Toro.

Thanks Dublin. Even though he wasn't involved with the earlier Silent Hills, were they any good? I don't want to discount Konami completely, but would have been more interested if he had made them personally.

I think i played one on the PS1 back in the day, they were ok but i was always more into Resident Evil myself. There are no SH titles on current gen yet.

yeah battle royale mode is pretty addictive. you need to be in a squad though, playing solo is frustrating

Yeah, right now I just play with one other buddy, so I have the feeling doing Battle Royale would be frustrating without recruiting some more homies. That's kind of why we've been sticking to the PVE side for now.

I'm terrible at fortnite

If you're referring to Battle Royale, it's not that you're terrible. In my experience when it comes to PVP everyone else is just really good. Kids have all day to play, they know the tricks, they live and breathe this stuff.

Me too. I haven't followed his career post-MG, but am reading up on him and the game today.

Believe it or not (as long as it's now available) PC gamers should be able to play with any platform (Xbox, PS4, tablet). However, Xbox and PS4 users cannot play together.

I haven't tested it out as I do not know anyone that plays via PC but I'm about 95% sure there's a way to do it, easily.

I always just assumed it was the wind moving the scent or other environmental factors. But yeah, sometimes the trail is all over the place.

I'm currently on PC for Fortnite.

I'm trying so hard to like Fortnite. I've only played maybe 5 hours or so, but I'm just not getting that itch to play it like I normally have with shooters. I think the reason is becasue the shooting feels horrible. I like the building aspect to it, but I'm always killed right at the end when I finally have a good idea of how to utilize the building feature. I'm not a huge fan of the art style. It just screams cheap mobile gaming to me. Which isn't a big deal, but i just am not a fan of the art style. The shooting is pretty rigid though. I love 3rd person shooters, I was a die hard Socom fan back in the day, but the shooting in Fortnite just feels off. I'm going to play it here and there for prolly another week and then delete it off my PS4.

every main stream shooter will have a battle royale mode out in the next year or so (COD, BF etc) and Fortnite will be forgotten about. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting such a mode. It's a fun wave to ride while there are no alternatives though.
