What are they saying? There's some microtransactions available, but nothing you need to have. You can buy Rift Crystals through microtransactions, but you'd be a fool to do so because they're free in the game and you get some anytime someone borrows your Pawn for questing. I guess if you wanted to hire a Pawn that was super leveled you would need a ton of Rift Crystals, or you can just friend them in Steam and rent the Pawn for free.
There's also Wakestones you can buy through microtransactions, which bring you back to life if you die, but this would also be a waste of money. You get a Wakestone shard if someone rents your pawn again, and 3 shards get you a stone. You can also just reload from your last Save, and that includes Auto Saves so buying Wakestones is also pointless.
There's a couple other items available in the store, but they're pretty much all things you can buy with in game currency. The only items in the store that I haven't found in game yet are Portcrystals (Which allow you to create a permanent warp point you can access whenever you want) and there's a Music and Sound Collection with Custom Sounds...don't know what all is in that, but completely not necessary. If DD2 is anything like the first game, the Portcrystals aren't a big deal either because there are free ones to be found throughout the game.
So, I don't know what they're saying about microtransactions, but from what I've seen they're not required nor are they worth buying. They're almost all things that already are available in game easily except for the Music and Sound Collection I'm guessing.
