I just flew a Cessna 310r from Portland (KPDX) to Remond (KRDM) with full IFR flightplan rules and trained human ATC the whole way.

(MSFS 2020)

What an amazing experience. It's really stressful getting everything right and following all the real rules of the air. But stressful in a super fun way.

It's absolutely shocking how far flight sim has come. (And it's truly shocking how much money I've spent on peripherals... haahahaha)

This is the next level nerd shit that makes me happy. Wish I had the time to get into every hobby I want, glad to see someone's out there getting hardcore about making a routine domestic flight on my behalf.

I just built my pops a rig so he could play Flight Sim this week. I basically just copied the same build I did for myself back in July. He's flying on Ultra settings now and he's one happy guy. Good to see others enjoying flying.

Haven’t had a chance to play yet but is this whole micro transaction thing true?

What are they saying? There's some microtransactions available, but nothing you need to have. You can buy Rift Crystals through microtransactions, but you'd be a fool to do so because they're free in the game and you get some anytime someone borrows your Pawn for questing. I guess if you wanted to hire a Pawn that was super leveled you would need a ton of Rift Crystals, or you can just friend them in Steam and rent the Pawn for free.

There's also Wakestones you can buy through microtransactions, which bring you back to life if you die, but this would also be a waste of money. You get a Wakestone shard if someone rents your pawn again, and 3 shards get you a stone. You can also just reload from your last Save, and that includes Auto Saves so buying Wakestones is also pointless.

There's a couple other items available in the store, but they're pretty much all things you can buy with in game currency. The only items in the store that I haven't found in game yet are Portcrystals (Which allow you to create a permanent warp point you can access whenever you want) and there's a Music and Sound Collection with Custom Sounds...don't know what all is in that, but completely not necessary. If DD2 is anything like the first game, the Portcrystals aren't a big deal either because there are free ones to be found throughout the game.

So, I don't know what they're saying about microtransactions, but from what I've seen they're not required nor are they worth buying. They're almost all things that already are available in game easily except for the Music and Sound Collection I'm guessing.

Couple more screenshots. If anyone else is playing, my Mage is level 15. You can friend me on Steam and recruit her for free. My Steam name is the same as my user handle here, send me a request.

And, for the lulz, some guy's Pawn I found in the Rift last night. Meet Glort.

I thought I read something about how you have to pay if you want to rename or redesign your character?

I still haven't got to Act 2 of Baldurs Gate yet so this would wait anyway, but that would be a big turnoff for me

You absolutely don't. You can spent Rift Crystals to rename or redesign your character, which again are easily available as you play the game and are freely given as people recruit your pawn and use them. I never had to buy Rift Crystals in the last game, and judging by the free ones I've been picking up here I doubt I'll need to buy any in DD2. I just talked to a buddy who was asking about the microtransaction rumors as well. It sounds like some influencer is spreading uninformed or bad info.

started Rise of the Ronin today and I love it it’s so good only complaint is the graphics could be better. Playing on the hardest difficulty and it’s Nioh level so I am okay with it. I was worried about the ratings people gave out but people should ignore if they are looking for a game that is what everyone wanted Wo Long to be but open world. There is a ton to do that I’m like 6 hours in and just got the long house. If you want a real challenge like me fight the challenges under level and it’s great. Died a shit load but never got frustrated.

Looks awesome, a bit like Sekiro but not so over the top. I need to check this out in the future.

Apparently people are review bombing Dragon's Dogma 2 over the microtransactions controversy. There is no controversy, people are idiots parroting what some uninformed Youtuber said. This video explains how stupid the microtransaction outrage is:

Supposedly yes. I'm running on max settings personally. My video card is from 2 years ago and it wasn't exactly top of the line. The only performance issue I've run into is slowness in the farming fields just north of the main city, but everything else and combat have been fine. My guess is it's something Capcom will patch. I could turn my settings down, but it hasn't been a big enough issue to bug me because it's just one small part of the map giving me trouble.

[EDIT] It's the Ray Tracing that's causing the slowness outside the city. Turning it off isn't killing the image with all the other settings turned up, I'm just going to leave it on since it's not a problem in 99% of the game.

Scuttlebutt is that's a CFB mod on Madden... hence the weird stadium with ND as "home"

Yeah, that's what others have pointed out in the Tweet, and I think that's legit. They've got Caleb Williams at QB still at USC? It definitely isn't ND stadium either, although @dublinirish pointed out it could be Duke's Mayo. My favorite reply in that thread:

Pretty realistic. USC 2nd and 17.

Helldivers got an update today. Brought some needed fixes to the consoles and some balancing on weapons (They nerfed my 2nd favorite shotgun today, but buffed the best Assault Rifle). Lots of good stuff, but they've also made it a lot messier. Your armor doesn't get dry cleaned on the extraction ship anymore, you just stay covered in blood and green bug guts until you die or change suits.

Still haven’t had the opportunity to start DD2 lol I’m about half way done with ROTR and the reviews for this game do it an injustice.

The review bombing is a shame, this is a great game that has been a lot of fun. The reviews have been improving since the misinformation on microtransactions has been getting filtered out. Capcom is doing something about the performance issues with Ray Tracing too, they've added an option to turn it off on consoles for now I think till they get it squared away permanently. I've traversed almost the entire map with max settings, no issues in combat, but for whatever reason when Ray Tracing is on I get some lag outside the 1st city in their farming area, and then I also get it when I'm looking south in the Rest/Border Town. Doesn't seem to be an NPC thing because there are areas with more NPCs that don't cause me an issue, the farms definitely don't have a lot of NPCs. My GPU isn't top of the line either. Just something to keep in mind if you run into issues, I've been leaving Ray Tracing on because the lag is manageable and I'm rarely in those two areas, but if I do have it off the difference is barely noticeable in visual quality.

I've got 97 hours in the game so far. I didn't touch the main story for something like 40-50 hours, I was just getting caught up on side quests and I did a bit of farming for mats and grinding on skills, but most of that time was spent on quests. I'm all caught up on side quests for now I think, so I'm resuming the main story. So far it's been great. They didn't change the combat much from the first game, they've just added some new wrinkles and a few new classes. They've added some more large monster types too. The Trickster class in particular brings some interesting mechanics. It plays more like a support class, but it's unique from anything I've played before in an RPG. The closest thing I can describe it as is an Illusionist.

From the memes and videos it looks like this game is very depressing
