OK, this was actually really disappointing. WTF is their launch lineup?

Overall, I'd say it's pretty disappointing. I won't be buying until fall or winter. Maybe tomorrow morning will change my mind.

I'd give it a B-. Would go lower but I have a personal affinity for Japanese weirdness.

Presentation was 6/10 I think?

1. Mario needed to be a summer release. It will get delayed, so Holiday 2017 means at least Spring 2018 in Nintendo terms.

2. I really don't understand why Nintendo decided to use their internal development resources on games like fucking 1-2 Switch and Arms. Bring out some bigger franchises.

3. Zelda looks effing amazing. I do like Switch's commitment to RPGs -- that Square Enix new IP looks sick. Hope its released sometime soon.

Pro Controller is going to cost seventy dollars. Another pair of joycons will cost eighty.

Nintendo has gone insane. They're insane.

Switching gears from that Nintendo garbage, where we all know the battery life on the portable aspect of the Switch is going to be terribad, I was grinding on Assassin's Creed II last night in an effort to go for 100% completion, just so I could say I've done it for once after having played it twice before. I had nothing left but the stupid gotdamn feathers to collect so I could unlock the final weapon and get the Auditore Cape.

I spent like three hours last night just going from location-to-location via a guide that I found, and still only ended up with 99 feathers after visiting every spot in the guide... I had missed a feather somehow, and had no idea where to look. I found it in stupidass Forli, the smallest town in the game, by pure luck when I decided to start my re-search there. I guess it was the very first feather location listed in the guide for Forli, and I had overlooked it on the first go-around.

That sucked.

To top it off, I found that "The Ezio Collection" is treated as one single game for "unlockable" purposes in the Ubisoft store, where you need to spend XP credits to unlock certain locations.

So here I am, thinking I've got 100% on ACII, only to realize that there's a single Templar Lair that is missing from the DNA strand because I don't have enough Ubisoft points to unlock it yet, and I'll probably have to hit some major trophies/badges on both Brotherhood AND Revelations in order to earn the necessary XP.

What a bullshit way to organize/restrict unlockable locations.

Some more next day thoughts:

1. It needed to be $250 or less. $300 will price out some buyers.
2. 1-2 Switch needed to be a pack-in game in the mold of Wii Sports. No one is going to pay for that.
3. Launch lineup looks thin -- it could have been saved if Nintendo was able to have a surprise reveal another 1st party launch release (Metroid, DK, Mother, F-Zero, anything). WTF is Retro doing lately?
4. The choices they made in that presentation were... interesting? How do you not have pre-recorded English voiceovers? Why on earth would you lead with the Wii-like attributes of the Joycons? How do you not show off some of the other actual launch window games (MK8 Deluxe, Super Bomberman, Ultra Street Figther 2)? The showcasing of JRPGs that won't be released until 2019 proves that this was a presentation made with only the Japanese market in mind.

Nintendo is maddening. That presentation was the worst case scenario for Switch, yet they still showed off two games that are likely to be the very best games released in 2017 across all consoles. With their stable of internal IPs, Nintendo would absolutely dominate if they created a true middle of the fairway, next-gen console with beefed up online capabilities / virtual console.

That's the key right there... if they would just put out a next-gen console with the promise that "anything that's been on any Nintendo console can be played on this new thing right here," everyone in the world would buy it.

Whether it's a streaming service, or an online store, or whatever, they need to go all-in on nostalgia IMO.

I'd buy a next-gen Nintendo console if they told me that I could play any of the Fire Emblem games, switch gears to Pokemon, and then switch gears again to Golden Eye or Mario Cart 64, and then switch gears again to whatever cool new game just dropped for the Switch.

These games were all made for different platforms, and so they run differently, but the effort to port/stream would be well worth all of the money they would make in return.

Also, having a troubleshooting issue with PS4... anybody have experience with trophies not registering?

I've earned all but four trophies for ACII, and yet hardly any of my trophies from yesterday have registered, so it really looks like I still have 10+ to earn. Do I just need to restart my PS4 and reload the game? Or is there a way to manually try and update trophies?

I'm gonna be pissed if the Ezio Collection is bugged, because I want that damn Platinum trophy for ACII.

I had the same issue when I let my PS4 sit for a couple of months while I was playing NCAA14 on PS3 in my free time. My controller wouldn't charge or connect to the console. I had to turn the console off and on several times to finally get the controller to turn on.

Ken Griffey Jr Baseball: A mid 90s Odyssey: Part 1

50 games into a full season run with God's team, The Angels

I didn't waste time editing all the names as I did in childhood... I know who the vast majority of these players are supposed to be.

I went with the traditional league and playoff format because screw expanded playoffs. Currently I'm 8 games up on the Twins in first place, 37-13... In the East the defending champion Blue Jays are already 11 games clear... Montreal and San Francisco lead out west.

Tim Salmon (M. Brando) and Chili Davis (H. Bogart) are killing it, both hitting over .400 currently. Davis' stat line looks like: .423 15HR 62RBI.... Mark Langston is currently 9-0 with a 2.87 ERA.

I'm currently battling the Blue Jays, working to right the wrong of the 1994 season being cancelled,... a season that was surely ending with the Halos lifting their first World Series trophy.
