OMG..........I call at 6:30 this morning and the message says call volume is high, you wait time may be longer than expected. LOL
I follow the prompts and still can't get where I need to go. Auto Attendant insists that I select from four options, of which none meets my needs. The AA then drops my call. I call back and get the greeting and a message telling me to visit the Microsoft site. Then it hangs up on me. I try three more times with the same results. I'm pretty sure this voice app has recorded my phone number and is not accepting calls from this number.

I wonder if they are hiring customer service reps. It sounds like a pretty cushy gig.

I call Verizon this morning to speak to someone about our companies account. It asks me to enter my cell so it can send a text message to verify who I am. You have 30 seconds to enter the code, but I'm not getting their text until there's around 5-7 seconds left. Since I didn't get it entered fast enough, their auto-attendant hung up on me. I was able to get the code entered fast enough the second time. After entering I get the message, "Thanks you for verifying your account. At this time our offices are closed........"

If your closed, just say it up front.

I'm car shopping for a used car. Find one online and go look at it during lunch. I tell the guy I'm interested, but have to get back to work, so we start texting to work out a deal. Several days go by and he's not getting to my number, but keeps texting me with "If I can get". While this is going on, I find the same car, a year newer with fewer miles. I go look at it and tell the guy I'm ready to buy if the price is right. Meanwhile the first guy text me and says he has others interested in the car. lol I tell him I found another one. All of a sudden they can get to my price! lol

To late bud, I just bought this one from a dealer that didn't haggle or pressure me. A week later, the first guy still has that car on his lot. What happened to all the others that had interest in the car? lol

Had the same thing happened when I bought my truck and traded in my old one. Messed around with the first place, they LOWballed my trade in value after them playing for 2 hours and after driving 1hr 15min to look at it. Found the exact same truck (same color and miles) on my way home. Stopped in and in 45 minutes I was in my new truck on my way home after they offered me over 2x as much for my trade in. 1st dealership text me the next day and said “my truck” was ready and when I was gonna pick it up! 🤣 Too slow jackass!!!

I wasn't trading anything which made it easier all the way around. They kept telling me they were only making $400 on the deal. Then he sends a pic showing the numbers. There is no way they were only going to make $400. Anyone can make something up with their PC.

My brother in law is a car salesman and did the same thing and I’m family. They also keep pushing the trade-in like it’s goin to save me money. Trade it for thousands less than i can get in market value so I can save a few hundred in taxes. Nope. lol.

Last vehicle I purchased I held firm on the maximum I was going to pay. Dealer got within about $400 of my price. I said that wasn't good enough and I got up ready to leave. The guy stops me and says are you really going to walk away from this deal over $400 (I hate when they pull that line). I told him, the real question is, are YOU going to let me walk away from this deal over $400.

I'm on the other side of the industry now, but when I was in the body shop, we were part of a large local dealership group. My wife and I were in the market for a used minivan once our third arrived, so I started looking around all the company listings, as I would obviously get the employee discount, and I hooked the sales managers at our parent dealership up many times, so he'd cut me a good deal if I found something reasonable.

My wife found one on a lot owned by our group, but not at our parent dealership. She calls them to set up a test drive, the guy messages her back via text later, asks a few questions, and then tries to upsell her on a different vehicle. I call the sales manager at my parent dealership the next day, and ask if he can get that same vehicle transferred to his lot for us to test drive and then buy as long as there were no issues.

The whole time, this salesman is leaving voicemails, texting and sending emails to my wife. States the van we want is in high demand, but he has similar vehicles if we just stop by. The van gets to my parent delaership the next day, we test drive it, do paperwork, buy it...

Three days later, the salesman texts my wife again and says "We still have that van if you're interested... stop by to test drive!"

Uhhhh, no you don't... because I'm driving it right now!

2023 KIA Sportage MSRP is $38k, at the dealership and they say my trade in is worth $17k. They come to me with the best OTD price of $31k...

Take the car to carmax and get an appraisal. Call the dealer and tell the salesman you want a price without the trade. When they give it to you, tell them you changed your mind and want to trade it in but carmax quoted you $xzy. If they match it, trade the car in and reduce your sales tax. If they can't match it, just take it back to carmax and sell it.

Buying cars grinds my gears. I hate the process and search but I enjoy getting to the end and fighting with these assholes over a few nickels.

Another thing that grinds my gears is when you go to the gas station and the pump won't stay engaged, or pumps real slow. It makes me violently angry.

I had them pull that line on me in 2000 when the wife was buying a TransAm. When he asked if I would walk away from the deal over $75, I looked him in the eye and said I sure would. lol

I didn't want the car because it was impractical but agreed since she was going to make the payments. A few days after buying it, we drove it to the grocery. As we're approaching the car with a cart and a half of groceries, she suddenly stops, realizing it wasn't made to haul that many groceries. I'd like to tell you I never said a word, but I couldn't help myself.

Did that the next day and went back with the carmax offer and they said of course they would match their trade value. They matched carmax and somehow their offer went higher. Never stepping foot at that KIA again

True story: in my late 20s between college & med school, I sold cars for a year at a new car dealership. One evening a young couple came in wanting to get the wife out of her older GM car and into something much nicer. They were both under 25, but the husband told me his dad owned a large business and that he was the VP. I knew the business and knew this kid was not hurting for money.

His wife fell in love with a turbo sports coupe and her husband and I did some VERY hard negotiating before finally getting to within $200 of each other. At that point the husband refused to budge another cent. I knew we could sell the car at that price, but I'd make only the minimum commission. I finally looked at his wife and asked, "If you go home tonight in that new car, are you going to be happy and smiling?" Her face lit up and she said she would. I then asked her if she'd be smiling if she went home in her old Buick. Her smile disappeared and she said no. I then turned to her husband and asked, "Is it worth $200 to you to see her smile all the way home?" and didn't blink when I said it. Just sat there without saying a word and let him squirm. Of course he knew what I'd done, but couldn't wiggle out of it. Dead silence for over a minute until he finally said, "OK, fine." Later, while his wife was away from us, he said, "That was cold as hell!" and we both laughed. He could afford the extra $200 with ease and appreciated the play on my part. :)

As a former car salesman, I understand the frustration and irritation some of you have from your experiences with car dealerships. It's frustrating and irritating for the dealerships and salesmen too, sometimes. Customers lie. I know, shocking. Salesmen lie. Hard to believe. The dealership and salesmen are just trying to get the most money for each car they sell. That's it. Period. That's their job. They play games, bluff, obfuscate, and hold out for the highest price. Sometimes it works, sometimes it drives the customer to another seller. The customer plays games, bluffs, obfuscates, and tries to get the lowest price. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm always surprised when people ask, "Why can't you just give me your lowest price without all the games and haggling?" Well, if you're selling your house, do you offer it at the lowest price you could possibly sell it for? Of course not. You're trying to get the most possible. Same with car dealerships.

About a year ago, our mail lady crammed a package in our mailbox. It was so tight I couldn't get my fingers in there to pull it out. Had to get a knife and cut the end of the package, pull out the item and then cut some more to get it out. A few months later, she does it again. Don't why she didn't bring it to the door either time. To solve the problem I order a new mailbox that's over 2X bigger. I used an online service to have a couple of pics enlarged. They arrived Friday in a rigid thick cardboard envelope with a sheet of cardboard inside to keep it from getting bent. I open the mailbox and yep, she crammed it in and creased it because it was too long to fit. Both pics got creased.

I go to the Post Office and they tell me to call customer service, so I open a ticket. I call back this morning to hear a recording that says my issue has been resolved even though I never spoke to anyone. I called back in and talked to someone who opened another ticket. lol

The thing that always don’t compute is the while in alabama between undergrad and MFing Medical school. …sold used camaros lol
Man's gotta eat... and I sold new Mazdas and Jeeps mostly. I drifted a bit in my 20s, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Couldn't decide between being a sophisticated international playboy, a short order cook, a movie producer, a brain surgeon, or one of them double-naught spies. :) Seriously, from about 25 through 27 I was in search mode and a bit lacking in direction. Chased skirts, played in a blues band, and put off being a real adult for a bit too long.
