Wouldn't that be something if you got the hell off our board?

Get the hell out of here. You're a Michigan fan.

Whoa there tiger. Anybody is allowed here as long as they don't act like a jackass.

You don't have to like him, but let him be.

Boy this thread is killing me.

Oregon is a top 9-11 team over the last 10 years or so.

The teams you would for sure rank higher are

Alabama
LSU
Oklahoma
Texas
USC
Florida
Auburn probably
Ohio St

You might rgue a Georgia or Bosie St. but Georgia has been rough recently and Boiset St has only been really good the last couple of years. So Oregon is a top 9-11 team. I would say that Oregon, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech in some order are 9-11.

No they aren't. As kmoose adeptly pointed out, they haven't achieved anything and don't beat good teams.

He knows, because he lives in Oregon.

They've managed to be ranked and have such good records over the years through Nike wizardry and mind control---I imagine.

Rocket89, it sounds like y'all are battling over semantics. If you think "top tier" means "generally in the list of top-10 winning programs" in the last decade or so, then I think they're there in that list, hands down. Doesn't matter how they got it, for discussion purposes. Point is, under this definition they're a "top tier" program.

Remember them beating USC all those times in the last few years? And competing for the Nat'l Championship in 2003 w/ Joey Harrington? In fact, they lost the NC by three points just last year, to one of the best teams and players in SEC history. (How many other SEC teams lost to Auburn last year by 3 points or less? IIRC not many...)

On a related note, I think their recent successes show just how much quality facilities play a role in a recruit's decision-making. (Funny how P. Knight and Oregon's successes overlap...Same thing with Boone Pickens and Ok. State., pre-BP Capital Partners' implosion)

Both Oregon and OkSU are thus here to stay, and I for one welcome our new O-state overlords. If anything ND never play Oregon and OkState but our enemies sure do. ('The enemy of my enemy is my friend')

And sure they're play fast and loose with recruiting/services (e.g., Lyles), but thing is other schools are paying the Lyles's of the world also, and they're still choosing Oregon. (I think Shaq (Powell)(?) just made them his #1 based on his most recent visit, and no doubt the speed of this commitment movement has something to do with Oregon's awesome facilities.)

Come out with a small patch on the jersey, a number 5 over a Heisman. That would be nice.

Good Golly Miss Molly.

Just play the effing game. Playing for Notre Dame, at Notre Dame against USC should be more than enough motivation.

I lost my composure last night. My apologies to kmoose.

Anyway, it could actually be a great mind f*ck for USC to just wear our normal jerseys.

Remember there have been rumors that USC would wear black, or garnet pants this year (although it was rumored against UCLA). It would be funny if they wore something different and were waiting for us to switch to green and we just demolished them in our regular blues.

I think we were blah because we were angry that it even had to be an upset for us to win over Utah. And the way that we beat them it was pretty easy just to sit back in cruise control for the game and enjoy it.

Still show some enthusiasm! Just cause we should be beating them doesnt give you to sit like a bump on a log and support your team.

If people in your section are being "blah" grow a pair and try to get them up and cheering!

"Try" is a good word. Because that is what I did, by leading by example. My pair is fine and quite substantial. I would hope that the love for the team would get them cheering and it is not my job to get or fans to remove the stick from their a$$!

Wow really? I was in the student section and had a totally different experience. It was the loudest the stadium has ever been, and people went crazy after big plays. People were grabbing me and shaking me from excitement, jumping around everywhere. My friend punched me in the gut lol and he didn't even notice. Man that was amazing.

Student section is a different world and the one place were there is consistant noise and enthusiasm. Jesus i have to say many of the poster on IE are extremely defensive. I thought we all were pulling for the same team here! I just stated a fact the people in my section were looking at me and my brother like we were from mars for cheering and trying to keep the noise up! I love us to keep the intensity and noise we had after big plays run thru the game, defensive stands, so on and so forther. Be proactive, not reactive!

I honestly don't care if BK comes out wearing a Little Bo Peep costume and the band is dressed like members of the Village People, if we beat down U$C, I'll be happy.

Credit to NDdomer2 for the idea and plaid pattern.

I think it looks pretty sharp.

I don't see plaid even being considered. It's too much of Scottish identity and not an Irish one.

Especially when the Irish adopted the kilt, they used solid colors and not the plaid pattern we are thinking about.

Courtesy of Military Irish's press-conference summary:

"Right now football is in that trendy time of wearing "cool" uniforms. He wants his players to feel like they are part of mainstream by wearing cool uniforms. It is about balance, he doesn't want to change every week but a change up here and there is not bad."

They're brewing up something sweet.

Appreciate the work. I don't see us ever wearing anything like this but it's def. something you will never see anyone else wear and it doesn't look like OMG what the hell were they thinking.

T'is true. Obviously the Irish have taken a lot of Scottish culture with them. But outside of the Irish Guard I don't think you see very much plaid anywhere on campus.

I'm trying to think of something and I can't.
