Tulsa King is good enough thus far,… almost through season 1, although it is predictable in terms of story arch etc. Hated the Pitt and ST season 5, both were terrible imo for differing reasons. Looking forward to Olympic hockey for sure. After that I might catch up with Landman, the first season was good enough, I’ll prob give season 2 a try

Kinda bummed reading this, as I had been hearing nothing but good things about Pitt. We are currently catching up on szn 2 of Fallout, not as good as the first szn but still good enough.

I always enjoyed the Winter Olympics just a little bit more than Summer, and hockey is a major reason why.

First time in a long time where you feel like USA really has a shot at this thing, especially after how tightly contested 4 Nations was. But it won't be easy. Canada and Sweden will certainly be formidable.

I gave a breakdown a couple of pages back as to why I disliked Pitt, and ST 5... but to each their own. I always get hyped for Olympic hockey,... last time around was such a let down with the NA guys not being able to play... it's a new day.

Watched the limited series 11.22.63 with James Franco. Released in 2016. Got 8 out of 10. Enjoyed it. If you find the Kennedy assassination interesting you'll like this.

Watch it and judge for yourself.

Is there a SK book that hasn't been made into a movie series at this point?! Love SK. I recently bought the book so I'll be reading that soon probably before I watch the mini-series.

Finally got to finish the last two seasons of Yellowstone. Even without Costner, S5 was excellent. I like how they wrapped everything up.

Has anyone watched the Ricky Gervais show After Life (2019-2022)? I may put it on my short list with Landman.

Watch Free Solo, even more insane
If Free Solo sends you down the rabbit hole of high altitude climbing documentaries here are some other good ones:

The Alpinist (2021) go in blind on this one
Meru (2011)
14 Peaks (2021)
The Dawn Wall (2017)
Silence (2017) not high altitude just incredible hard climbing
Storm Over Everest (2008)
Alex Honnold Climbs Angola (2015) this is short doc. You can find it on YouTube
A Line Across the Sky (2015) this is another Alex Honnold one

Finished Season 1 of The Pitt over the weekend and am fully caught up.

Maybe not the best to binge because it got to be overwhelming. Maybe that was the point, but man, the viewer goes through quite a bit over the course of those episodes.

The casting is good and the writing is well done.

Half way done with Steal on Amazon Prime. Sophie Turner is the lead (Sansa Stark). It's ok so far.

I watched this a couple of years back, I enjoyed it. Some very funny moments, but also some extremely sad. He did a really good job on it.

Touching the Void, while older (2003), still holds up and is a great one to go into blind as well.

My wife & I watched Queen of Chess, which just came out on Netflix tonight. It's a 90 minute look at Judit Polgar's rise from young prodigy to becoming the strongest female player in history. Much of it focuses on her chasing of Kasparov, dreaming of beating him one day, and her encounters with him. Very well done and lots of interviews with her and Kasparov. Interesting for me, not only as a confirmed chess nerd, but I know a few of the people in the documentary. Judit's very interesting and a very normal, charming, likeable person. Definitely worth the watch.

Binged S1 ad part of S2 of Landman this weekend. Another great show by Taylor Sheridan. I know I've said it before, but Billy Bob Thorton is a hell of an actor. The scene where his son tells him he loves him while they're in his truck is some pretty strong stuff by BBT.
I started watching Landman yesterday and am about halfway through S1. I should finish the first two seasons this week. Doesn't take long to get invested in it, that's for sure. So far it's everything I'd hoped for and more. Billy Bob is outstanding. It took a while for me to realize his ex in the show is the girl in the whipped cream bikini from Varsity Blues.

The amazing thing is Ali Larter could still pull off the whipped cream bikini in jaw dropping fashion.

Yeah I would let Ali Larter use a strap on with me. And I would have a smile.

I would just never tell you guys...................oh wait
Talked my wife into watching Varsity Blues the other night to pay our respects to James Vanderbeek.... She now understands why I was so excited to see Ali Larter in Landman.

Just finished watching Soul Power on Prime. Series about the ABA. Going to Pacer games in the late 60's & 70's it hit home with me. The impact on the NBA and todays game is crazy. Most remember the 3 pt. shot and slam dunk contest originated in the ABA, but the talent level was on par or better than the NBA. When they started playing exhibition games against the NBA, the ABA teams dominated. IIRC the first All Star game after the merger had 10-12 ABA players on the two rosters. Definitely fun to watch all the old clips and see the ABA is today's NBA.

My only complaint was that while they did a nice segment on the Pacers and how everyone considered them the best, I was disappointed they didn't say a lot about Roger Brown or Big Mac. It was fun to see a lot of former players I watched play against the Pacers.

Dr. J loved playing in the ABA.
