My new favorite beer is Longboard by Kona Brewing Co. I don’t really do the heavy stuff anymore, so this is nice compromise as it is a lager, similar to a Red Stripe. Very tasty.

I have a love-hate relationship with Kona Brewing. Since they sold to CBA, their beers have changed. I think they taste more "mainstream" now. Probably has to do with most of their beers being produced in Cali.

I was at a bar, last night, and the Hanalei Island IPA was on tap. I tried it, because it was one of two beers on draught (it's a small bar) and the other was a pilsner. I did not like it. Too fruity.

I have tried some of these beers that have hints of fruit, like grapefruit, and I can’t do them either bro. Just tastes weird to me. The way my taste buds have changed is strange in itself. I used to love Guiness, now I think it’s the nastiest thing I’ve ever had lol. I thought I was supposed to refine as I aged?

I'm hoping I got a bad can, but the one I tried today I couldn't finish. Thin. Weak head. Just tasted and felt flat as hell. Usually PAA is on point, but this was upsetting... especially at 12.99 for a 4 pack of cans.

Out of curiosity, what are the Pappy prices (bar pricing), where you are? I went to a place that has been open for years, here in Downtown Honolulu, for the first time. Their whisky prices are stunningly low (for Hawaii.) I would love a price-check.

Excel makes beer too apparently. Black Breath: a stout aged in rum barrels. A little boozy but tons of sweet stout flavors, needs more rum to balance this.

This sounds great; exactly my type of beer. I've never even heard of this brewery, so I highly doubt I'll find it, here. Sad.
