Strangeland Brewery Abbey Ale. Not bad at all. Pretty good Dubbel. I do love me some Belgian styles.

Live Oak Big Bark.
Pacifico and a lime.

Lagunitas Maximus. Going back to the store tomorrow for round 2 of Austin Craft Beer Week beer specials. I may need to pray for strength...

I prayed for you to get more money so you wouldn't need strength. What did you pick up?

Golden Road The Works IPA. Nice after a really long day and I still have to do some work on a project tonight.

Then you need to get me a new job haha. Only semi joking.

I'm out at the moment but I dropped more this time on beer. I don't have the full list with me so I'll report back later.

Whistle Pig now. But hey...I joined a wine club called Club W, in which they buy wine from winemakers and sell it under their own private labels and cut out the distributors in order to sell the wine at good prices. I tried my first bottle tonight, and honestly it was decent-plus. Definitely good for $13. Anyone else do this? What do you think of their wines?

So my list from today:

4 pack of the Strangeland Abbey Ale
1 bomber of Strangeland Bishopsgate barleywine
4 pack of Boulevard Calling IPA
1 bomber of Alpine Duet

The store was all out of Nelson, unfortunately.

When you try Boulevard the Calling let me know what you think of it (also I am interested in how you feel about Duet in comparison to Nelson and Hoppy Birthday).

Definitely. I'm gonna be aging the barleywine, but that Duet will be gone fairly soon. I'm not sure when I'll be able to try the Calling though

I have not had it but it does kind of remind me of what Cameron Hughes does. Though CH is not a wine club and they sell both to stores and directly to customers (though sometimes I can get bottles from Costco for dirt cheap).

I think my parents joined that Club W thing. They seemed to enjoy it, but it's right up their alley. My dad refuses to spend more than 20 dollars on a bottle of wine unless it's a very special occasion (like if I'm around)

Not a huge wine drinker but the last couple nights I've had Prairie Berry 3Redneck Cabernet Sauvignon.

My wife is out of town with her mom today, hoping she comes through for me and picks up some Shipyard Pumpkinhead and New Belgium's Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale

New Belgium White IPA. Pretty mediocre, barely anything to it. I like Starr Hill's much better, but of course, my local Safeway here in VA has the blah White IPA from Colorado instead of the good White IPA from the local Virginia brewery. First World Problems.

Oskar Blues IPA. Very nice hoppy delight. First time I've seen it (I've had Deviant Dale's). Also, at 6.43% ABV, it's not quite as big as some others.

Boulevard Calling IPA

Pours like an apple cider. Orange, no head, extremely opaque.

Very very little carbonation. Sweet start, then bitter on the finish.

This beer is very confusing to me. But it's extremely quaffable and keeps me coming back for more. I'm glad I have another bottle to taste later.

Malt on the taste with some citrus fruit. That bitter finish lingers in a good way.

Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale

Edit: If you like pumpkin beers thus one is the best imo. Not an overpowering pumpkin taste with a great tasting dark ale!

Strange Land Compline Abbey Ale

Back to this. Dark roast. Got some spices in it. Really nice mouthfeel to it. I'm very intrigued by this brewery. I may have to visit.

Until last year, 3T's normal swig of bubbly was Heidsieck Shipwrecked 1907. Now it's a still very nice Dom Perignon White Gold Jeroboam.

Thank god as an Irish Fan I've learned to love Schlitz.

Bell's 30th anniversary Ale (imperial Stout) 11%. Pretty good, one of my favorite Bell's beers (right up there with Expedition Stout but a little sweeter). Not sure it is worth the price though (though it isn't horrible as I got it for $16 for a 6 pack).

Schlitz... wow... I have not heard that in a while (like since high school). I used to keep that in my cooler next to my MD 20/20 and my girl's Bartle and James.

Once a year, my friends and I get together and consume unreasonable amounts of Mad Dog. It's so bad.

We also do Edward Fortyhands once a year with Steel Reserve.

These things started years ago, in college. We still don't make great decisions.

Haven't actually had to partake in a Schlitz fest since college as well. And MD20/20 was a go to. The tiny strip mall across the street from my dorm was a literal paradise of cheap booze, and cheap tacos (taco john's). There were many, many, many weekends my weekend budget included just enough to buy a bottle of MD20/20 and a few bucks to pitch in for the keg at the house party.

I miss those simple days.

Shotgunning Four Loko's is also an interesting experience. And your decisions don't get better after a stunt like that either lol.

Don't knock Schlitz. Remember: it's "the beer that made Milwaukee famous."

Actually, I still have a few during the summer when it's really hot and I want a lighter-bodied beer.
