Happy to be of service.

Glad to have you back.

I love watching the SEC suck (though it does take a little luster off of our victory)

Now it is time to start pouring the good stuff (well after a bourbon or two).

Tough sledding today after yesterday's drinking session that continued long after the big win. Hoping to be asleep right after midnight tonight to regroup for tomorrow.

Now on to Ocean's Eleven. Still sipping Makers after a brief detour of Lone Star, White Wing, a taste of Friar Angelico, and Amaro.

Shorts Cinnabilly. Um, gross. Very strong scents. Tastes like... um a nutty flower patch? Not my thing.

I've got a bottle of Bells Mercury. Wondering if I should drink it because I've heard there's been a recall due to defective bottles. Can anyone give info on this? ND in MICH? scUM Hater? The cap is tight and the liquid seems to be free of debris. I'm thinking about going for it.

Jackaroo:

I'd be suspicious of anything with "Mercury" in its name that has issued a recall.

Do you have any recipes that call for beer and 6 hours of braising? Take a bite and wait a while. Take a nap.

If you wake up, not in the Emergency Room hooked up to a ventilator and IV drip, take a few more bites ...

What is the defect? When I've questioned a bottle's voracity, I've relied on the pour to determine quality/freshness/tampering. I would think if Bells is recalling, they will relace at no cost. I say wait if you can and if you have other choices in the fridge!

For me, Clown Shoes The Peace That Money Can't Buy. As a rule, i dont usually buy Quads made in the states (Ommegang notwithstanding) but this is pretty good.

Here is the info

Bell's Brewery, Inc. :: Blog

Today, we are issuing an automatic, voluntary recall on specific bottles of Mercury: The Winged Messenger which may contain a slight glass defect on the outside lip that could result in small pieces to become dislodged from the bottle.

This recall only applies to bottles purchased in specific counties in Michigan (listed below), not the entire packaging run. It does not affect purchases made in any other state or those purchased at the Bell’s General Store in downtown Kalamazoo.

This recall was initiated after a customer contacted Bell’s directly about an issue when removing the crown. No one was injured. An internal investigative process was immediately initiated which traced this potential defect to a single pallet of glass bottles received by Bell’s.

Bell’s does not manufacture its bottles and has been working with its supplier to further protect the safety of its customers.

“We have zero tolerance for any glass defects and while the chances are small that this could come up again, we are doing everything we can to address this situation and making sure all bottles are immediately pulled from store shelves and distributor warehouses,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

If anyone has purchased Mercury in the counties listed below and still has unopened bottles, they should not drink the beer.

Customers should also not attempt to return the beer to the store it was purchased at.

Those in possession of these Mercury bottles should contact us via this form.

Customers in the Kalamazoo area can also return it to the Bell’s General Store for an exchange, based on availability.

“We will do everything in our power to try and make this right. Quality is first and foremost in all areas. We will work to ensure this does not happen again,” Bell said.

Anyone who has consumed beer from an affected bottle and becomes ill, or shows signs of complications, should see a physician immediately.

If you want to get specific, my error was not technically grammar, it was a spelling oversight.

For me, Ballast Point Indra Kunindra (spell check that). Won't be having this one again, way too many spices.

Now, Columbus Brewing Company IPA.

I long ago fashioned a suit of spelling/keyboard mishaps armor. Most errors bounce harmlessly to the ground.

Unless, of course, I see some possible perverse joy in poking fun or ribs.

Then again there have been times when my hairline further recedes from scratching my head ... or I spend far too much time "translating."

Hall Passes abound.

A fine hair to split. At first I was going to put "Spell Check" but you didn't actually spell a word incorrectly. You used the wrong word, but spelled it correctly, so I put it down to grammar error. Anyway, just funnin' you a bit. This is a thread about drinking booze; if you don't make some keystroke errors, then you aren't drinking right.
