I tried Lagunitas Shutdown Undercover on draft. I didn't love it, but I liked it more than I thought I would. I followed it up with 2 Sixpoint Apollo. I liked that a lot.

So much to drink.

So little time.

Where's the bottle opener and corkscrew?

Just had to get that off my coaster ...

So what did you think of it?

I rather like the Cuvee Des Jacobins. Lots of nice tart and slightly sour cherry, cranberry and currants with some vinegar.

A 4 pack was $24. I've had one and thought it was good, but can't help thinking "I could have bought a bottle of champagne for $4 and it would have tasted the same." To me it tasted similar to a really dry champagne.

Shiner White Wing Belgian White. Not bad, not great. Not as refreshing as I thought it would be. I should've gotten a Weiss Bier.

Shiner Beer is brewed in Texas, which is in America the last time I checked. Way to be be super ignorant and narrow-minded. Do you get all your beer advice from Fox News and the Tea Party. Ugh.

(Self-satisfied eyeroll behind my thick-rimmed hipster glasses as I flip my stylish scarf over my shoulder in disgust and saunter off in my skinny jeans while updating the Jean-Paul Sartre wallpaper on my iPhone).

Avery Maharaja DIPA. One of the sweetest beers out there. Loads of navel orange, tangerine, mango and pineapple to go along with a healthy dose of caramel malt. Reminds me a little of orange marmalade.

I just received a bottle of Hennessey Pure White as a gift. I have not opened it yet but from what I hear you can mostly only buy it in the Caribbean or Europe.

I am waiting for the right moment, maybe that will be for the 4th.

Went to old trusty tonight. A sixer of Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar. I will never tire of this beer.

Backed it up with a four pack of Oberon cans.

Wife is drinking white wine. Started off with proseco and then moved on to sauvignon blanc. I started with Makers Mark and then moved to Firerock Pale Ale and then to the new keg of Pacifico. Sitting out from on our chaise lounges waiting for it to get dark enough for fireworks.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

I tried Lagunitas Sumpin' last night. The description on their site touts it as "great for both IPA and wheat beer fans." I think it plays more to the IPA crowd. I wasn't bad, but I was expecting more of an easy sipper. It was like work getting through the 2nd bottle, because the beer had a lot more body than I expected. Maybe it's not an ideal July beer; it might go better in the fall.

Should I start another thread titled: What Are You Still Drinking?

(When my girlfriend's gone you can tell... I have my name on every thread in the Lep Lounge.)

Last night, tried Collective Distortion IPA from Stone. Not a huge fan of this one. Has elderberries in it...

Just got back from a week-long vacation in San Diego. Alesmith everywhere, which was nice to see. Their stuff is stupid overpriced here in AZ, but everything is expensive in CA, so it was easier to justify the premium.

Tried Safeway's house brand of bourbon-- Samuel Grant-- because the price was right, and we were looking for a cheap Old Fashioned mixer. Apparently comes out of the Barton 1792 distillery. Sweet, astringent and obviously young, but not bad for the price. I moved on to Buffalo Trace later in the week.

Had Piraat, Gulden Draak, St. Bernarndus Abt. 12, and La Fin du Monde last night.

Had some Stone RuinTen and Lagunitas NightTime over the weekend. Both were absolutely killer.
