How is it? I saw that yesterday and almost bought it but went with the Victory DirtWolf instead.

Funny...I was looking for DirtWolf and when I couldn't find it, I got this. I like it...has some west coast ipa tastes but more malt than a Stone or Green Flash. I'd drink it again.

Also today at Costco I picked up a 4 pack of 22oz bottles for $15 that had
Stone IPA
Stone Arrogant Bastard
Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous
Stone Russian Imperial Stout

Not bad for $15.

I've gotten that deal a couple of times. Great stuff. Sometimes they replace the stout with the smoked porter.

Mischief by The Bruery. Its a Belgian Strong Pale...just ok for me.

Have you had any of their other beers? I really enjoyed the Tart of Darkness (it is a sour stout).

Stone Russian Imperial Stout 2014. One of the best non-oak aged stouts on the market in my opinion.

Not yet but I have two more in the fridge, both Saisons I believe.

Definitely agree with you one the Stone Imperial. Saw the Stone Porter with Chipotle peppers at the store last night...ever had it?

Was enjoying some Oberon and Gumballhead during the Hawks game, but am thinking of upgrading to a faster chip now. Pouring a shot of Beam.

Saison de Lenthe by The Bruery. For me, another average beer from The Bruery with a funny aftertaste.

Now, my last Ten Fidy.

Boulevard Brewing Love Child No. 3. Opened this to celebrate that the wife is pregnant with our third child. A wonderful sour ale. Loads of tart fruit (cherry, apple, raspberry, and cranberry) with some malt and the finish is heavy on the oak. Some vinegar notes along with vanilla and a touch of caramel. I wish I had another bottle of this ale.

As it warms up it ads some tart lemon notes.

Congrats! Great to hear.

Went to the local superstore over the weekend...found that they had marked down bottles of St Bernardus significantly. Bought them out of it. Had the first of that pillaging tonight.

Thank you.

Which St. Bernardus did you have tonight? I love the Abt. 12.

When you go to a restaurant or bar and order a beer, what is the main driver of your selection? A co-worker and I are having a debate on this subject, so I want to gather some anecdotal data to throw in his face. Thanks in advance for helping achieve my agenda of spite. Which factor usually sways your beer ordering:

-Name Brand
-Beer type (e.g. IPA, Porter, Stout)
-ABV
-Price
-Limited Availability
-Any "other" you can think of

I would like to say beer type... but most of the restaurants/bars in my area aren't quite caught up on the craft beer thing, so I usually ask for one of the name brands I can handle.

If I lived in an area more suited to what I like, I would definitely ask "do you have any brown ales on tap?" every time. There is one place that has a few good choices on tap, such as one of my favorites in Rogue Dead Guy, but the brown ales are hard to find right now.

For a nice brown ale... Belhaven Scottish... in a can or on tap.

For me it's usually Limited Availability... if i look on the menu and they have something I know is good that is hard to find... then I'm ordering. otherwise I'll just pass completely on beer until I get home, it's much cheaper for the same basic selection.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Man it's good. People I work with told me how good it was, but I was reluctant because I don't care for Wild Turkey 81 or 101. And Russell's Reserve 10 I thought was too hot to be really enjoyable. So I finally took the plunge on Rare Breed and it delivers.

It's 108 proof, and the heat hits you with the first dram. But it's a nice burn; you sit up and take notice but it isn't harsh or unpleasant. The heat is much less apparent on the second pour. It has a muscular, full-bodied mouth feel, with a good combination of spice and sweetness. Well-balanced and delicious. I'm drinking it straight because I just filed my state taxes and owe much more than I expected so 108 proof is just what the doctor ordered. I'll try it later with a drop or two of water to see what that does. I paid $40 for it and it's worth every penny.
