Lagunitas Day Time Ale A Fractional IPA 4.65%. Very good for a sessionable IPA. Lots of citrus and a hint of tropical fruits and crackers. Would be great after mowing the lawn.

Have you tried Squatter's Hop Rising IIPA? It's probably my all-time favorite beer. Very similar to Rampant with only a slightly stronger taste.

Yes. Also excellent. Can get it on tap...though one needs to have a driver after more than one.

Our Daily Red Organic Table Wine

We had it at our wedding. Very nice wine.

I tried some Mimi chardonnay at work. I'm not much of a white wine guy and I virtually never drink chard, but this was good. It's dry and crisp, not the oak bomb, California style chard that's is so common. It's from Washington State, part of the Chaeau St, Michelle portfolio. I'd suggest it for a warm day along with some oysters or light-flavored fish.

On a cold rainy night it is time to open a stout.

Alesmith Speedway Imperial Coffee Stout 12% that was aged for one year. 750ml bottle.

N: Big time coffee notes followed by cocoa nibs, a little vanilla and dark fruits (plum/blackberries).
P: Starts with huge notes of coffee, cocoa and vanilla. Some of the dark fruits show up with some milk chocolate.
F: Coffee, more coffee and some cocoa. Still a little vanilla mixed in as well.

It's mouthfeel is that of a milkshake that has been sitting out just a tad too long.

If you like stouts and you like coffee, I can not recommend this enough. Buy it.

Odd day in Arizona when it rains all day. Still time for an IPA.

Port Brewing Wipeout IPA. Just a nice west coast IPA.

Port Brewing makes some good IPA's (Wipeout, Mongo and Hop 15) though I am not a fan of their IPA High Tide.

Don't know High Tide. I'm a big fan of Mongo. Have had Wipeout a couple of times. It's a good $4.50 bomber (@Sprouts).

Moving on to Squatters Hop Risin' next.

Lagunitas' Brown Shuggah. Pretty good.

Delirium Nocturnum. Amazing. Belgian strong dark/ Quad is my favourite style, and it's competitive with the best I've had.

Good stuff, also one of my favorite styles. Going to keep an eye out for that one.

Avery, The Reverend again for me.

This is the time of year where a lot of great special release come out (the standards such as SN Celebration or Lagunitas SUCKS but also St. Bernardus Christmas Ale, Gouden Carolus Noel, Affligem Noel, etc.).

Whiskey (or anyone else) have you had Delirium Noel? If so is it worth getting?

High Tide is their Fresh Hop IPA. Not bad but not as good as their other IPAs.

Just had that empty feeling where you walk into the liquor store cooler, look around for 10 minutes, then leave with a run of the mill sixer feeling 'meh' because nothing really blew your hair back.

Some Bell's Two Hearted. Good stuff, but I was in the mood for something new, and didn't see anything that looked promising. Going to 3Floyds next weekend though to stock up for the holidays.

If you are in the East Valley, try Sleepy Dog. I was a fan during my time in AZ, and heard Desert Eagle is good too, but never went there myself.

I've had Sleepy Dog, but not Desert Eagle. Sleepy Dog has funny names...leg humper, etc. Beer is okay. I'm a big fan of San Tan. Actually live in Tucson.

San Tan is good stuff for sure. I did a lot of hunting down in the Charlou Gap in Tucson. Beautiful area of the US.

It tastes more like a corn whiskey. Has some smokey and oaky notes too. It uses Dead Guy wort in it's distilling, so there are definitely some yeasty beer flavors. Very smooth. I'm partial to Tennessee whiskeys, but this isn't bad and is not as harsh on the taste buds as my usual whiskeys. I'd give it a go.

Oh, and on the bottle, it says it glows. Haven't figured out if it's the bottle or whiskey that glows yet, but it's on the docket for today.

Thanks for the review. I bet it is the bottle. I know that some of Rogue's beer bottles glow in the dark.

Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA.
