Good, Much more of a smooth taste than I expected...

Saison Dupont for me tonight.

Any idea how I can get Pliny the Elder (or Younger) in Michigan? I'm really intent on trying this beer!

Send Bluto a PM he might be able to get you some. It is just about impossible to get even in SoCal. Almost all of it is kept in NorCal. I wish I had a better answer for you. Hell I am lucky to get 1-2 bottles of year of the Elder. The Younger is usually only available on tap.

I know it's cheap but I was always a big fan of that stuff. Don't know how 50 years would treat it though...

It makes it smoother. 50 years in glass will usually make it even smoother as long as it was properly stored.

This.

I can't drink Cutty by itself normally... this stuff is bascially Cutty, but super smooth

I used to know a couple of guys that loved to drink scotch and grapefruit juice. Never had the courage to try that combo.

Because Cutty Sark apparently doesn't have enough gut-burning acidity all on its own. On another note, I tried Stone Smoked Porter last night. Good porter, but it wasn't any better or much different from other standard porters I've had. Maybe a bit drier because of the peat smoke. OK, but not great.

heard on a ND podcast that if you mix gin with Mountain Dew Code Red it is called Trojan Blood.

I picked up a bottle of Elmer T. Lee bourbon last night. It's been hard to come by lately, for obvious reasons. I can't wait to break into it. I just hope I'm disciplined enough to leave some for tomorrow. Lots of football watching to do.

Pliny the Elder on tap with lunch. This is what I am going to miss about California.

Elmer T. Lee. Solid bourbon. Good but not great at $33 for a fifth. I would buy it again at this price, even without the recent death of Mister Lee (Rest is Peace) driving my opinion.

Transitioning to some Tullamore Dew Whiskey. Pretty good for a cheapish whiskey.
