Weihenstephaner Weissbier is friggin' awesome. Sierra Kellerweiss is also great. Thanks to people in this thread for suggesting it. It's my go to sixer at Total Wine. Spaten is also pretty good, but not as good as the others listed.

NDBoiler, if you go Doppelbock, you can go with Ayinger Celebrator as well.

Yes. Celebrator is best in class for Doppelbock. But Korbinian is still very good, and is sometimes significantly cheaper.

Question on Belhavens Scottish Ale? Went to a small pub in Vermont and had it on tap. Really liked it but cant get it in my town without jumping through hoops. Heading to Jacksonville in the morning for a day of football and the Mayweather fight. My wifes cousin is going to pick me up some from a liquor store close to her house. My question is cans or bottles? Would like to have the one thats going to taste as close to tap as possible. thanks for any help!!!GO IRISH!!!!

I actually discussed this VERY topic in this thread a couple weeks ago... most beers are better in can, Belhaven Scottish (one of my favs) is a WHOLE DIFFERENT BEER... in the bottle it's not that great imo... in the can or on tap it's a world class beer.

Also if you want the 'tap' taste it's ALWAYS Can>>> Bottle

Wait, what? Cans are preferred over bottles in the "professional" bear world?

Im glad i asked i was going to go with bottles. Any reason behind this "cans over bottles"?

The most important reason is that cans better protect the beer from light, which prevents "skunking". They're also more durable, space-efficient, and easier to cool.

Yes. now we are talking beers i have access to... I love Celebrator Double Bock... cool little bottle (I have never seen it in can) too... one of the more enjoyable 'chocolate beers' imo.

Gumballhead: tropical fruits, banana some wheat.
Kellerweis: banana, lemon, wheat, yeast and spice
Weihenstephaner: banana, citrus, clove, spices.

Also if you see Lagunitas Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale yo could get it. Tropical fruits, citrus, banana and wheat.

Boiler you won't find Gumballhead anywhere in a bottle. They can't keep up with the demand. If you do find it though let me know. I will then proceed to buy out the entire stock. You should be able to find Weihenstephaner though.

I have also yet to find Lagunitas in Indy :/

You were right GITF, they didn't have any Gumballhead. They said they only get random shipments of it and don't know when it is coming, which I found a little weird.

Well you probably won't like German weitzens then, as that clove flavor is pretty prominent in most of them. My favorites are their Hefeweissbier, Hefeweissbier Dunkel, and Weizenbock; but all of those are heavy on clove.

You might enjoy some of their lagers-- the Original, Pilsener or Doppelbock.

Bought a sixer of the Sierra Nevada Kellerweis and a pint of the Hefeweissbier. They didn't have the Pilsner, Original, or Dopplebock, but they had a couple others I can't remember, so I just went with it. My plan is to try them tonight, will keep you all posted. Thanks again for all of the info guys.

My boss is outta town, so we ordered pizza and brought in a couple bombers of Don de Dieu and Three Philosophers.

Work is so much better buzzed. Makes me wish office cocktails were still socially acceptable a la Mad Men.

Ha... That's awesome... I haven't had a job that I could get faded at since I worked pizza delivery... Wait, did I just say that out loud?
