ah basically the game organizers always reach out to schools/cities with Irish connections and they got Northwestern and the BigTen made it happen.

Pumped for some shit week 0 match ups, just glad football is back.

Hilarious that FSU has a tune up game before they play LSU next Saturday. They'd better hope they play better against Duquesne than they did against Jacksonville St. last year

Hot take: FSU will beat Dequesne, but look bad. Then they'll give LSU a run for their money and almost beat them.

Pretty anxious days on campus football wise. After last season and the amount of key returning starters expectations are as high as they’ve been in over a decade…. Yet if they drop the game to North Texas they have a game against Oklahoma and an 0-2 start staring them in the face. It’s a pretty big game for the program

I'm gonna let this stand... but just know I'm back for Watch Party duty, complete with tables and game notes.

I had a draft for the week zero thread complete and ready to post... but I guess our new software doesn't save a draft for more than three days lo.

Haha it's all good. I know you took over last year didn't you?

I plan to post the watch party threads on Tuesday mornings, in addition to some other weekly stuff (though I'm probably being overly ambitious, between a full-time job, the third child just being born, and coaching my 6-yo's football team lol)

You teaching them the veer or just installing full west coast offense, mold their brains while they're young?

Lmao, we're still working on our left and right for some kids... so for now, it's a wishbone offense with two tight ends.

We repped motioning one of our deep backs to a wing, and then running a fake dive with an end-around, which was deadly in our game yesterday. We're also holding a pop-pass to our backside TE in our pockets until the 'bowl' game they play for the young kids.

Coaching little kids is a blast, even if they have no idea what they're doing play-to-play.

WKU vs Austin Peay
- The first football game on TV this season. Tune in.
- WKU has a really fun offense, and should put up big numbers, even with Bailey Zappe off to the league.

Nebraska @ Northwester (Dublin, IE)
- Nebraska lost 9 games last year... they lost 8 of them by one score! You almost have to try to lose that many close games.
- Their 9th loss was a 9-point loss to Ohio State. Nebraska might have been really close to being a good football team. Think of 2016 ND transitioning to 2017.

UCONN @ Utah State
- Jim Mora Jr. is coaching the Huskies, and has a QB battle on his hands. Frosh Zion Turner will probably get the nod at some point once they're desperate enough, and he might actually turn out pretty good if Mora doesn't ruin him.

Duquesne @ Florida State
- Watch the Seminoles warm up for their tilt with our old friend BK on 9/3.

Vanderbilt @ Hawaii
- Week zero night cap
- Watch another old friend, Clark Lea, take his team for a week zero vacation to Hawaii, where they will also try to win a football game against a program that spent the winter forcing out their coach via high-profile transfers and accusations of mistreatment.

Always look forward to these breakdowns! Week 0 is always so underwhelming and it's funny how excited I am every year to watch it.

Nebraska/NW is actually a pretty intruiging match up for opening weekend, though. Pat Fitzgerald bringing his history of overachieving success against a supposed sleeping giant in college football lore and a head coach who just might be coaching for his job across the pond.

Hard not to root for Vandy, love me some Clark Lea.

Northwestern is in a steady pattern of being ass one year, then over-achieving the next.

They are due to over-achieve this year.

FAMU is down 20 players due to transfer and academic issues. Still going to play their game in order to not miss out on 450k payment from UNC.

I'm totally taking Duquesne (I don't even know where tf that is) +44 against FSU. Draftkings got my money on that one.

Tom Osborne is gone, and firing Bo Pelini is still haunting the Huskers. I want Nebraska to be back, but -11 for a team that can't win big seems rough. I think I bet cats.

I'm taking the homer bet on Lea in Hawaii. I don't care the spread.
