ND by 35, Bowling Green gets into the teens late.

My real prediction is that some shenanigans pop up so BVG isn't even the coordinator by Saturday and BK can't get his revenge.

These are the games that try men's souls....

Seriously though, can we play like ten of these a year??

Taking into consideration that VanGorder is Bowling Green's defensive coordinator, we should win this one big. In addition to VanGorder's obvious incompetence, there's the added factor that Kelly has a good understanding of what VanGorder likes to do. If Kelly and Long can't get the offense running on all cylinders against Bowling Green, there won't be much hope for this offense in the future. We should get an opportunity to see PJ get extended playing time with the offense, and this should be a game where the back-ups get some reps and the starters get an early start on healing up for the Scum game.

I would have said 5.5 but then I realized that they will probably show him on most big plays and/or touchdowns so I would set the o/u at 9.5

That's the thing, the o/u is basically asking:

1) How bad will the beating be?
2) Will BG have any big defensive moments?
3) The biggest question, how mean is NBC's producer?

Insane line. I think ND probably opens up a 35-0 lead and then goes to backups.

Final score? I'll go 56-7, with walk-ons playing half the 4th quarter.

Having fun imagining Phil Jurkovec launching bombs up by 40 in the second half.

59-14 ND.

BG jumps out to an early 3-0 lead and then, ND rips off 48 unanswered.

48-3 and it doesn't feel that close.

I think they'll use this game as something like a bye for some of marquee guys. Get healthy and ready for USC. So, I'll say 52-13. ND doesn't cover.

72-17

Open with a big lead, put in the 2nd team and they continue to build the lead so Kelly yanks them because he doesn't want to hear the calls for PJ and then Clark leads a couple scoring drives but the 3rd team defense makes a few errors and gives up some points.

This is a name your score type of game. But I would be more concerned with just leaving without any injuries. That said, I would play the starters the first series after the half just to keep the routine of restarting and then pull them after that. Get the second string a couple of good series then go as far down the depth chart as I could.

At least we should see some of the young WRs play....

And Crus will get his PJ fix.

My only hope is many many many camera shots of a non-fist pumping Brian VanGorder.

It will be funny AF if we struggle, and BVG gets to fist pumping.

ND never covers giant spreads.

Does New Mexico not count?

ND has been COVERING this year (except for Louisville, but that depends on when you placed your bet and where).

They're gonna Unleash The Phil when the backups get in, and he's going to uncork two long TD passes, and run for another long one.

BK isn't going to try and run it up on his old pal BVG... but I'm sure he's going to let the second unit play with the full playbook, including their first-down passing game when the defense dictates it.

ND 59, BG 10

What's the weather gonna be...that's the only thing keeping ND from covering the spread. Well...six illegal procedure calls could slow ND down too. 49-6 Close but ND doesn't cover.

Bowling Green has an awesome mascot... I mean, i don't even know what it is, but I'm sure they have one and that's awesome. No way ND can compete with that.

Bowling Green -> USC - > Michigan

I think it will be up to the second and third teams to cover the spread and if Long wants it he can cover the spread. I just don't see any value in the risk-reward graph for putting starters in potential injury situations. This is underscored by the importance of our next two games.

44.5 points? That's a spicy meatball!!

Cheers and Go Irish!!

A lot of young guys get to play a good amount but I don’t believe they cover.

The Bowling Green mascot is known as "Freddy Falcon". But how can Freddy ever compete with the Notre Dame Leprechaun?
