I'm going with a let down game. We win, but only by two possessions.

I worry a little bit about this being a "let down" game after two top 15 wins and looking forward to Miami, in conjunction to Wake wanting to stick it to Elko. I'm getting a Boston College kind of feel. Closer and rougher than it should be in the first half, then we open it up in the second half.

ND by 24.

Edit: longtime lurker here, first time posting I guess :)

I would normally....... be..... concerned..... but.....

I don't think this will be a let down sort of game. The kids have a new attitude, improved S&C, seem focused, and Elko will have high motivation not to mention insight into Wake's O (and personnel on the D side).

Total D ranked 55th, rush D ranked 84th, and passing D 38th.
Josh should have another big day and the big uglies will plow.

Their O doesn't stand out to me. Dortch is good, but the rest, meh.

Scrappy team, but if we don't roll by 20 at home, we don't belong. We're in the big boy spotlight right now, and I expect we keep acting like big boys this week.

Welcome!

Our DL has a big big game, and the DBs do enough to limit Dortch.

BK lets the dogs out, gives Josh some extra carries to attain 200yrds and a few TDs, and the other boys get plenty of touches. WF D is beaten down hard by early 3rd Q.

I mean, that's the fishiest line I've ever seen. Wake is a surprisingly good team... borderline top 25 when looking at advanced stats... but it's hard not to pick ND to win by two TDs.

Book and the second team offense take over after the first series of the second half. One of the freshman TEs catches a TD. Adams with 200 yards and Deon with 100 more. I drown in the Kool Aid but don’t give a fuck. 49-10 Irish.

The team is made hungrier by their #3 ranking, rather than complacent or satisfied.

42-14 Irish.

Book and McIntosh get another entire fourth quarter to drain the life from an opponent, and our backup OL and DL continue to get great developmental reps.

I had the same thoughts. I expect some "sluggish play" on the part of the Irish in the 1st half and then to "right the ship" in the 2nd half. Barely covering the spread ... Irish by 14 pts.

Per the Wake Forest football site ... Sunday, it was announced that Greg Dortch will miss the remainder of the 2017 season because of an abdominal injury suffered in the Louisville game. Dortch leads all freshman in the nation in receiving yards (722) and receiving touchdowns (eight). Four of those scores came during the game in which he was injured, setting a single-game school record.

Hey guys, 2012 alum and a longtime follower but a first time poster. I have a good feeling about this year boys! Running over and past people with physical offensive line play can play with anybody. #33trucking has many more long hauls in them.

As for this week, I think that we go up early, probably with a combo of a long Adams run and a nice pass to EQ I'm guessing. Then Wake answers with a FG. We kind of get bogged down with a mistake by BW leading to a pick. Wake's defense is still good and they will be hyped to play against Elko. But the defense steps up, makes a stand and we score two more TD before the half. Second half, we just RTDB and break their spirit. They get a garbage TD. Final 35-10 (should be higher, but I think they might be looking forward to Miami a bit)

Reese Davis pointed out they're in the top 30 in both offense and defense (not sure which metric he's using).

But that's pretty damn balanced and rare for a team to be that balanced and not in the top 25. Glad this one's at home.

Thanks for the update!! reps
Hate if for him, but happy we don't have to worry about containing him.

Not sure which metrics they are using either. From a pure stat perspective, not a top 30. Losing at home to a crappy FSU team is bad to me. Their best win, is debatable, but is either early vs BC, or over a struggling Louisville team. Hung with Clemson but I think Clemson is overrated this year. Picking NC State in the upset this weekend.

Limit Dortch?

No chance the db’s limit Dortch this game. Zero

Line dipped to -12.5 on Monday but I missed it. Got -13. So Irish by 2 TD keeps the lights on.

Optimistic prediction: I see a style points special. Was happy to see CBK let Adams have so many carries while still taking quite a few shots at the endzone. This week some of those big chunk shots turn into TD's early... like 4 of them as Wake sells out to stop the run. ND jumps out big, Wake is forced to throw it, TO's start to happen and whatever ND does works.

55-13.

Pessimistic prediction: 38-20

Put some stuff on Offer-Up and free up that capital.

If you'd been doing the G thang all season, your post would have read...

"It's taking every ounce of willpower that I possess to keep me from laying a 6 G's on ND to cover."

The Irish are printing money.

Yeah very strange line. My buddy reminded me that Clemson was a 21.5 favorite against them and we have shown the ability to blow everyone out. This is the type of game I'd put a lot of money on ND to cover and then also bet the WF money line.

This! My buddy (an avid gambler) tells me last week that this has been the best year he has ever had. He claims that the only reason he is up so big is because of ND. He will continue to ride the wave and I will continue to capitalize on free drinks! Go Irish!!!
