My heart says blowout but my pessimist view of the Irish causes me to pick 7-10pt win. That's good for us because the last time I felt like this we made it to the NCG...

I think we start of sluggishly and it's close with Texas in the first quarter. I begin to get more and more nervous as the first quarter goes on and it's still 3-3. I cope with this by drinking more whiskey.

Late in the first quarter we have a turnover, either a Malik int around midfield or a Folston fumble. Texas capitalizes on this and puts it in for a touchdown. We are down 10-3 heading into the second quarter. I lament on no longer being in the Brash Bros private group since my return to the site. I begin to channel my inner IrishPat.

The second quarter comes with a three and out for us, then a few punts after marginal success. Finally, we miss a field goal which breaks the momentum we've been building throughout the quarter while stifling Texas' offense. I drink more and begin to comment about owning businesses and employing (il)legal immigrants in Texas.

We get closer to halftime with not much difference and we finally let Texas get another field goal. We're now down 13-3 with not enough time to really put a drive together before halftime. Since BK elected to receive and we went three and out, Texas will get the ball to start the second half. I drink much much more in preparation for my full integration into the gameday thread at halftime.

Halftime arrives and I drunkenly berate illegal immigrants in the state of Texas while somehow linking it with BK's ND and our incredibly poor performance in the first half. Our politicians are terrible and giving our country to the illegals in Texas, and what's worse, our football team is under-performing. How in the hell did BK get this job? We're a perennial eight win team! I fucking can't take this! I vow to leave the gameday thread.

The second half kicks off and Texas gets the ball. They get a first down and then punt. We finally stop trying to be fancy with the passing and pound the ball. We manage to get a touchdown and cut their lead to three. Texas receives and drives the ball but Swoopes is gonna Swoope. Throws a pick and KVR sets us up with great field position. We get the touchdown and I start to become optimistic.

The rest of the third quarter passes easily as we build our lead over Texas. Our staff makes great adjustments at halftime and we are looking alright now. I have still been drinking but my hate for illegals is hardly sated. I return to the game thread.

I post about how our staff has made some great adjustments and how I'm still not sold on BK. I begin to get belligerent and argue with BGIF, ACamp, NDinLA and Whiskey over illegal immigrants destroying my way of life while simultaneously making claims about not being racist by employing them and thereby benefiting from their labor. They tell me I'm an idiot, but I don't care, because I'm drunk and ND is winning.

My drunken ramblings continue and I lose track of time. The game ends with ND winning 31-13. I'm overjoyed. This might be the year...
I fall asleep because I've had a liter of whiskey and I wake up around midnight and decide to log into IE to see the latest on the politics and post-game thread. It says I've been banned by Ironman. WTF is this Nazi shit? They banned me? For what?

>mfw I'm banned from IE after the first game thread of the season.

Texas 33
ND 20

MZ is responsible for 4 turnovers, and the defense gets trampled for upwards of 300 rushing yards.

I don't know if they could have played any better against LSU

I agree, but Nelson wasn't among those five, Martin was at guard and that was only one game. I sure hope they prove to be great with the combination of talent/experience but I've just gotta see it on a regular basis to believe it.

Tilley seems like a special kid. One of those ND guys who just gets it. Also looks slimmed down

That's right. Texas gets the first negative points in football history and ND scores the most points in the sports history.

I'll realistically say ND 38 UT 17.

I just don't think UT is as good as we're making them out to be, but I get the pessimism, as we've been down similar roads before and it's bitten us in the a$$.

I'll say if we don't win by 2 or more scores, I'll be unpleasantly surprised.

I see this Texas team as equal as Michigan last year, and the Irish talent to almost as equal as last year. With that being said, I believe if you watch the UM vs. Irish of 2014, you will almost see the exact game as UT vs. Irish of 2015. Hence my prediction:

Irish 31
Texas 10

Wooly, we always see almost eye-to-eye on a lot of things related to Irish. My prediction is not based on the exact score or game. It is based on the equality of the teams based on a comparison of talent.

I know the final was 31-0, yes - should have been 37-0, but our defense may not be as strong, but .......... our offense should be as strong if not better.

again 31-10 our beloved Irish

go drink some more White Russians and smoke some more roaches...... LOL!!!

We beat Michigan 31 to 0. Idk where you guus got the 10 from.

Why I say 31-10.... the "almost" is the kicker in my prediction not to be confused with the exact score of UM vs Irish.

ND 34 - Texas 9. Oops throws 3 interceptions. Folston runs in 2 scores. One defensive TD. Malik hits fuller on bubble screen for the other TD.

Undercard...Utah 38 - Skunkbears 3

It's reported the Longhorns will start Swoopes, but Heard will also play. I'm one of those that believes if you have two QB's you don't have a QB. That also tells me Strong isn't sold on Swoopes ability to do the job.

Still can't believe there is 4 board members thinking we lose... Of all the games I worry about, Texas isn't one of them

First game of the season the defense struggles in the first half a bit. The offense isn't spectacular at first but then hits the ground running hard. ND wins 31-20.

Ooooh i love these:

We go up early and stay up. Kizer in by 4th quarter, we continue to drive and score. Our guys make it look easy. We are very excited but Texas finishes the year 6-6. ND becomes undefeated national champions. Jack springs for a Dallas Cowboys big screen cause fuck you he can do what he wants. Jim Harbaugh quits football. Southern California slides into the ocean.

ND 52 Texas 9

21-0.

Malik struggles with red zone in his first game, but Yoon goes 7 for 7 on field goals. His last being a 51 yarder and after it splits the uprights, he rips off his jersey, Hulk style and reveals a complete 8-pack, instantly joining the 1st team 2015 bod squad. Greg Bryant is forgotten.

Oh we're playing that game?

I say 20-0 on 10 Jaylon Smith safeties.

The freshmen linemen from Tejas are too scared of his athleticism to try and block him, and their skill players are too frightened to be tackled by him. 10 Tejas drives, 10 Tejas plays, all plays where the Tejas skill players immediately retreat to their own endzone seeking refuge from the heat-seeking missile that is #9.

The offense actually has a killer day running the ball with Malik and Folston, but rather than scoring additional points, they kneel it out every time they reach the redzone and have sufficiently run a portion of the clock, because it's much more fun to watch Jaylon terrorize the longhorns, chasing them and cackling with glee as they flee to the end line to avoid loss of life.

There's no way with a frame like his to NOT have an 8-pack. I mean, he might have a 9-pack. Needs more beer.
