Same. I remember the old days when Ad Blockers would stop the Youtube Ads, then Youtube got smart and put a stop to that shit.

I suppose it may not work every time, but I’ve noticed that if I immediately hit reload as the YouTube ad starts, my video plays without an ad.

In all seriousness the "hide distractions" feature on iPhone works like a gem. Ads are never an issue.

-Open your Android device's main Settings app.
-Navigate to Network & Internet (or Connections depending on your phone brand).
-Select More connection settings or Advanced.
-Tap on Private DNS.
-Change the setting from Automatic to Private DNS provider hostname.
-Type in the following address: dns.adguard.com
-Tap Save and completely restart your Chrome browser.

Alternative to a pi hole, just buy an Nvidia Shield Pro, set it up so that it launches with projectivity launcher. Side download SmartTube along with any streaming services of your choice (whether legit or not), and a VPN. It's an expensive little box but if you set it up right you can have a completely ad free experience, it has the best 4K upscaler for 1080p content available for non-4K content, and it automatically handles everything from Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby Atmos, etc.
