It's the same ole' same ole'.... As soon as we beat a team, they tank.

Not intentionally, but because we steal their spirit to fight on..
If they beat Us, they get better. Prove me wrong......

Imagine If we had a good OC, and S&C coach....
I have been thinking same ole' same ole' in terms of MF first two seasons. They haven't been exactly alike but a lot of similarities: We lose a close one to OSU that we could have likely won (should have won this year), then we play terribly to lesser opponents after the tough OSU loss (in '22, we play a lot closer than they should be and lose to Marshall and Stanford) whereas we beat Duke in a close one and get spanked by Louisville (who could now actually win the ACC championship)in '23; then we have the pressure's off, we ain't going to the playoffs, annihilations at home post mid-terms (not thinking about school work, at home, no more playoff pressure); followed by post-annihilation game Nov letdown (USC in '22, Clemson this year); then the Senior Day home game, get the fuck out of here, this is our house beat down before Thanksgiving and then a mid-range bowl game (which we hope to win). Again, not exactly in same order and # of losses but very close in ups and downs and you kind of feel like you know when and where the wins (and annihilations), the losses (and beatdowns), and the upset losses are going to occur. And following this logic, I wouldn't be surprised if they experience a final '23 game loss away at Stanford like this up and down team is prone to do in such a situation. Too many uneven, up and down performances the past two years that MF needs to get a handle on far more consistency, performance and winning... Same ole' same ole' SMH

Wasn’t OU leaving for the SEC one of the reasons he left for Southern Cal?
YES! Riley wanted nothing to do with SEC Football. Oklahoma Fans know this fact.

Riley Is the epitome of a Cry Baby....

What a disaster of a season, I love it.

Next year won’t be any better, look at usc schedule for next year. Yikes
Riley had better hire a DC like his job depends on it. And who do they have for a QB next year? I assume there's some 5-star understudy?

I’m not convinced USC will ever be great as long as they look to the portal to build the roster. I really don’t think that’s a winning strategy

I agree.

I don’t believe that’s a sustainable strategy. It helps when you need to add some depth or plug a hole for a year but not to build a roster every year.

The Caleb Williams - USC marriage is ending in terrible fashion. I really feel sorry for both parties…

Yes. Five-star super recruit Malachi Nelson.
I don't know how to pronounce his name, but it reminds me of the creepy guy:

I think their schedule this year is tougher.
I guess we'll see how it shakes out but I doubt it.

OOC schedule this year was two non P5 teams and ND. Next year it's LSU, ND and one non P5.

They played six P5 teams with a winning record this year - ND, Arizona, Utah, Washington, Oregon and UCLA. They lost all but one. That doesn't matter here but wanted to throw it in anyway.

Next year they'll have to play three of them again, ND, Washington and UCLA. Then they'll have a slew of loseable games in the BIG - @Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, @ Minnesota and @ Maryland.

Ton of travel and a ton of teams that will be looking to beat up on soft lines.

The funny thing is, what the portal is best for - QBs and plug-and-play skill position guys - are the positions USC and Lincoln Riley are generally good at anyway. It's a lot harder to build lines via the portal, especially on offense. Good luck to them portaling in an OL that can stand up in the Big Ten.

Also: I just looked at their recruiting. #18 nationally (on 247). No QB? Just one top-tier WR. They have some spots left but ending 1-5 won't help. What's going on there?

Lincoln needs really think about defense then next month. Until he hires someone good he is going to suck.

It was great to see Ohio St., Louisville, and Clemson win yesterday for the strength of our schedule.

It was greater to see USC lose yesterday.

ND exposed USC and ever since they lost to us, they haven't recovered.

I love Golic Jr defending Caleb like it isn’t probably worth noting that someone an NFL team might take #1 and make the face of their franchise and leader in the huddle only wants to talk when he’s winning and dodges all responsibility when times are tough.
