Teams are typically beat up/knee injured the week after playing Navy.
Are non-Midwest teams more susceptible to flu after facing us at home?

Even with my Scottish blood, any time the weather gets under 55 degrees I instantly get, at minimum, the sniffles...

Please Please Please!!! upset Utah this week.

The irony of this game from an SC perspective is that if the Trojans beat Utah, it ruins the resume of one of their top coaching candidates.

So in many ways, it is a no win proposition. USC isnt going to land Saban or Chip Kelly... I honestly think that Whittingham might be one of their better realistic options. But if his team isnt undefeated and winning the PAC 12, I doubt USC will even want him.

Well...maybe if he had one loss...?

They only need to lose one. Neither of these teams look good and the polls are looking for a reason to drop them. Especially with loss at the end of the season, one loss for MSU and OSU is all that is needed for the B1G to miss the playoffs (or at least get in behind ND).

Agreed. Especially with how the Committee ranked FSU last season. I kind of doubt the Committee would have OSU/MSU in the top-5 right as of today.

Also, theoretically if OSU beats MSU and Michigan beats OSU, it would create a 7-1 three-way tie at the top of the B1G. The winner would be determined by Committee rank, which would most likely be 10-2 Michigan...who could in theory be below us at 11-1.

I don't know about that. Can't disprove it but I can't get behind it either.

Here's how the East champion would be decided. #1-#4 wouldn't decide if three 7-1's all beat each other. (Even though to me, losing at home like UM did would be my first disqualifer since the other two would have lost on the road.)

5. The highest ranked team in the first College Football Playoff poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the College Football Playoff poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game.
6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.

So Michigan with 2 losses is out of the running for the spot if MSU and OSU only lose 1 game.

Can you provide this link please? I read yesterday that just #5 applied if these three teams all go 7-1.

If a 1-loss SEC Champ gets in over ND in a very weak year, who is to say that a 1-loss B10 does not get in, particularly if it is OSU?

We need a 2-loss conference champ, so we have a shot. The only shot at that is the PAC12, IF SC beats Utah, along with Stanford, while we beat Stanford.

Only thing I say is, we are better off now as fans than 5 years ago. The speed Kelly has recruited is starting to match that of the big boys. We get to see more and more EX-ND players on Sunday. He is an outstanding coach.

I don't see him leaving Texas, but I wonder if the Longhorn itch won't eventually be one he can continue to ignore.

He'll itch that bugger.

That's what I'm thinking. Eventually Strong will wear out his welcome, at which point you have the think Texas will throw the checkbook at Bryles. Prolly a piece of the Longhorn network to boot. They'll be beyond desperate at that point. Unless of course Saban gets bored...

Anybody think southern cal may go after Art Briles? Would he be interested?

Don't think Briles would leave for USC. Was surprised he didn't bite on Texas job a couple years back, but he has created a beast at Baylor that will remain strong as long as he is there.

No Offer Dagummit.

This should be a reminder that 3 star / 4 star borderline prospects can outperform their higher ranked classmates. What was he, the 4th highest ranked LB SC got last year?

We never had a chance to offer. He was all USC from the jump and knew he was going to commit to USC pretty much when he was offered.

I thought he was a solid 4 star per Rivals, but I could be wrong. He also was an EE, and was a starter almost from the beginning, with Dawson coming off an injury and him picking up things so quickly.

I'm still not sold on him as a MLB for an elite defense, but he stepped up today, no doubt.

They've been on the way. Part of LA's bid for the Olympics in the 2020's.

That part of town has slowly been getting better, not that it's good now, but it's not a danger zone like it was 20 years ago, and this would only make that much nicer... look what Staples did for downtown/Korea town... it's night and day I'm for it.

Yeah it should always be in a city with the proper infrastructure to move people around and house them. NYC, Chicago, Boston, London, Beijing are all good choices. Boston probably needs some rail upgrades.

Boston would be terrible. LA actually would be pretty decent. They could spread everything out.
