I would say that we went 1 for 2 yesterday as well. I wouldn't consider Cornell a loss since we kinda stopped recruiting him

See. This is what I don't understand. I doubt Cornell had a committable offer. Do you think the coaches would have accepted his commitment right now? I don't.

And I was making fun of the fact that the USC line was they were getting both guys, if I read it correctly. Hell, they even figured out how far those guys would boost their class ratings. I get a little too gung-ho every once and a while, and have to be cooled off, but those (knowledgeable) experts from their camp even had it calculated that landing both would move them to the number 15 class in the nation. No doubt!

I didn't here one ND expert, or fan post anywhere near cocksure, (even about Miles) yesterday, and I can't remember one poster who even wanted Cornell!

I don't see any comparison. And I bet that yesterday turned out best for ND in the long run. There are a couple of interesting defensive players that may be interested in the Irish that would fit in as well to BVG's scheme as anyone we lost. Maybe better.

Hate to see that. I'm all for mocking our rivals when they lose guys for academic violations or various criminal activities, but losing your entire season "just like that" due to injury is no joke.

Even athletes that I've hated over the years...never wanted to see them get hurt. Knocked out of the game for a few plays because they got pan-caked...totally ok with that. I want our rivals to be good...and we're just a little better. I think he'll get a sixth year...unless he heads to the NFL sooner. ACL's can be tricky...i wish him well.
