I'm hoping for 9-3 next season, just so Hayden thinks he might be turning the ship around.

Me too. But one has to wonder if they would still fire him after 9-3. The damage he continues to plague their program with is real and measurable. I think that he will be gone without a BCS run, and unfortunately be replaced by a big name coach. That is still a great job that coaches will be salivating over once Kiffin/Sanctions are gone.

But maybe we'll get lucky and get a couple more years of this wonderfullness.

FYI USC has something like 4 coaching vacancies now... and the best part? They can't fill them.

Kiffin already reached out to two coaches in the PAC12 offering big pay raises to come be the new OL coach at USC. Coaches from Oregon State and Stanford both told him to go pound salt. Why? Because who the hell wants to work for Lane Kiffin.

This means Kiffin... a guy with no experience and no coaching tree... is probably going to end up reaching for bottom of the barrel staffers from small time programs that he doesn't know to fill out his staff.

USC fans want him fired NOW.

The problem with unknown quantities is just that. They are unknown. With Kiffin you watch him end up picking a bunch of scrubs and them being superstars. He'll still get fired after this year though heh.

Man oh man, justice at its finest. Sanctions weren't enough to fully sink the ship so there own arrogance prevailed and they took Kiffin...

Somewhere in Minneapolis, Dick Shanahan just felt a great disturbance in the force.

I agree. We need Lanny Kiffen to stick around to ensure SC continues to put soft, undercoached, selfish teams on the field. We've seen they can be a force when they get rolling. Love that he can't get the big names to join his staff.

Haden isn't stupid. I think the plan was to ride out the worst of the sanctions-induced lack of depth (which just hit them in 2012) under Kiffin because he was recruiting so well. Now things are starting to fall apart, so USC will be looking to stop the bleeding as soon as possible. I can't see how that happens without firing Kiffin first.

He only has two options.

Lol the entire country outside of USC fans predicted this. Everyone knew Kiffin was a *** and a terrible coach.

My personal favorite:
AW for better or worse he is going to Coach this year, you might have to just get over it.

It is like being stuck with a wife that is cheating on you, if you are going to keep living together, you might as well get over her behavior as it is not going to make you feel any better.

Probably not the best comparison, but you know what I mean.

After 7-6 with 6 months till a game is played. Can you imagine?

Rough off season.

The question is, is Kiffin a better coach than Rick Neuheisel. Jury is still out.

Looking at their schedule for '13, they look like a lock to go 8-4, and could easily go 9-3 with a bit of luck. They have good to great skill players on offense and if their o-line stays healthy, they could even go 10-2. They just need to out-score everyone and stay healthy. They don't play a physical football team until mid October and then again, late November..
If a couple of o-linemen go down, look out.

Per Thomas' interview with the Florida State 24/7 site:

Josh Newberg: At what point did you know you were going to sign with Florida State?
Matthew Thomas: Well I decided that morning (Signing Day). The night before I was honestly thinking USC. I was trying to get the LOI and everything ready and signed first. But my mom didn't want to sign it. She didn't want me to go to USC.

JN: So if your mom would have signed the papers you'd be a Trojan right now?
MT: Yeah, I would have been a Trojan.

JN: Are you upset about that?
MT: No I think everything works out how it's supposed to. I'm going to make the best of my situation. It's not like I'm unhappy, I really like Florida State. It's not a problem, I'm happy with my decision.

JN: Tell me more about you and your mom's discussion. Did it get heated when she wouldn't sign the LOI?
MT: No we just talked and stuff. We couldn't agree, but it's my mom, I just did what I had to do.

lol Lane must be furious.

There's a rumor on the BGI board that Jordan Poland, top 100 2014 OT committed to SC, is decommitting. Hope it's true.

The expected losses being ... @ ND, @ Oregon St., Stanford and possibly UCLA?

I'm glad he's not a Trojan, but he doesn't seem thrilled with his decision. I feel kind of bad for him. Hopefully it works out at FSU for him.

I agree. Mom usually knows best, but what's the deal lately with a handful of moms throwing tantrums when their sons want to go to a school they don't like? Actually, if your last name is Collins, your mom might be crazy...see Alex Collins and Landon Collins.

My opinion is that a mother should be influential throughout the process, make her voice heard, and be the voice of reason. Ultimately, she has to trust that she has raised a son who understands her wisdom and can weed out the BS. But what the hell do I know?
