UM talking trash

PS: I go to UM games, especially when ND visits, because I have easy access to tickets. I have never once had a bad experience.

Well I've seen people peed on, heard downright appalling things said to women and children, and when I was a junior an ND student walking out of the stadium got sucker punched by a UM fan so hard that he had to have all kinds of reconstructive surgery.

I've been to games in LA (even sat in the first row of the Trojan Nation bleacher seats in the endzone), MSU, Purdue, BC, etc. Michigan fans are mostly reprehensible and disrespectful individuals in my experiences. Again, never met a Michigan STUDENT who wasn't a decent fellow. Maybe this taints my view of their postings online, but I see the same sort of "eff everyone, we're the best!" attitude in most of their posts.

The only fan base I've ever seen in person that compares at all to the level of disrespect I've seen from UM fans is tOSU. When in Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl years ago... drunk tOSU fans got pretty nasty.

Alright, I think it's about time I checked out of this thread before I ruffle any more feathers. Stay classy.

I just hope we beat Michigan this year because we are a better team. The last 2 years UM beat us fair and square but they definitely had lady luck on their side. Screw that bitch, lets beat Michigan and not let officiating and injuries get in the way.

To be fair, their defense has quite a lot of talent returning.

First things first, that awful secondary returns pretty much everybody, including the aforementioned Troy Woolfolk, their best CB, from an ankle injury that sidelined him this season. J.T. Floyd, Ray Vinopal, Courtney Avery, Cullen Christian, etc. All back. All having taken their bumps and bruises. They won't be good, but they'll be much better. We will not be able to pass at will. Luckily, we get them early on and perhaps we can catch them confused at the new defensive scheme.

The major losses are at LB. Jonas Mouton, Obi Ezeh, and Mark Moundros are all gone. Fortunately for them, they still have Kenny Demens (Jonas Gray's old teammate) who could become an excellent LB. Filling the holes at LB is the biggest challenge.

On DL, they return Mike Martin, a legitimate NFL prospect. Great NT. We handled him this year, but he's still a force in the middle. Also returning are Ryan VanBergen and Craig Roh, two decent DEs.

"Talent" is in the eye of the beholder.

In other news, whatever happened to 5* DT William Campbell from '09?

We never blow out Michigan. Of our 15 wins in the series, only four have been by double digits (1943, 1987, 1998, and 2008).

Even in our big 35-17 win from 2008, Michigan turned the ball over 6-7 times and we got short fields on two of our scoring drives. Not to mention Brian Smith's fumble return for six, or the fact that Michigan outgained us by a lot.

Personally, I can't wait for both teams to return to form and we see those down-to-the-wire games that we saw year after year from around 1986 to 1999.

Then we are due. Fine, after next year, the down to the wire games can come back. But, it's a historic day in college football. I hope ND ruins it by 40

Since I'm smack dab in Wolverine Land, I know these kinds of things.

Campbell has been a disappointment so far. They actually moved him to OL and just recently moved him back to DL.

Thank you. And be safe, I've read about people being found snowed in their cars for 12+ hours.

Same to you, although "great class" can be substituted with "impressive close to the recruiting year".

Haha man I love some SCUM fans. I know you post here on a regular basis but this is classy. You pull a few 3* and low 4* recruits and all off a sudden you have your moxy back. This September should be a very good game and I look forward to watching the first night game in Ann Arbor in front of 113,000.

Enough with the "If Christ is healthy we beat Michigan" crap on this board!!!

If your coaching staff had done a better job coaching up the backups, maybe you would have won...

If Troy Woolfolk, Michigan's best DB, didn't get hurt before the season, perhaps it wouldn't have mattered who was playing QB for ND...

Lack of a competent backup QB is a TEAM weakness. When Denard Robinson went out of games, Michigan had a competent backup and the offense was still effective.

Every team suffers injuries. God knows Michigan had more than its share this year. But real men don't use it as an excuse...

Why do people do this? You make a bunch of excuses for UM's poor play and then say "but real men don't use it as an excuse...". Great so don't bring up your excuses to make a point about how you shouldn't use excuses.

I was congratulating your recruiting class, not ours....

And when did I loose my moxy? Was it after we won or before?

There's one thing we don't have to make excuses for: the only highlight of the RichRod era.

2-1 v ND.

I would say right around the time your lord and savior **** Rod was canned and your recruiting class was a joke. All of a sudden, you hire your next "Michigan Man" and all is well after you pull a couple of 3*/4* STUDS! Your class is still not impreesive, although if you stop posting on an Irish board and go to an actual Michigan board you would think you guys just pulled a top 5 class with Harbaugh. Im glad you have new life in your program but pulling a coach from San Diego State because he's a Michigan man is funny. However, according to your AD, he was your first choice. Not Harbaugh and not Les Miles. They must have flown down to Louisiana and told Les that they wouldn't be offering him a 6 year deal worth 4 million a year.

This thread needs to be closed. Not much of a topic to begin with and now it's devolved into pointless trash-talking.

If you'll look at my posts you'll see that I didn't like the process that we went through to get Hoke, nor was I wow'd by the hire. But, I like what he did with the short time he was given, can't fault him there. You'll also see that I never touted our recruiting class, or said that Hoke was our Number 1 guy. I'm also having trouble finding threads on Michigan boards that are overflowing with OMG OUR CLASS IS THE BEST!!!11!!, probably because they don't exist, but feel free to prove me wrong. But you hold on to this victory in the recruiting fields, I'll hold on to our win in 2010...and 2009...on the football field.

It's shocking--SHOCKING!--that a thread titled "UM talking trash" has devolved into pointless trash-talking.

Point 1-Weis wasn't ND's first pick for coach, they won't admit it. No school would.

Point 2-Every fan overrates how their team will do the next year, ask a Chicago Cub fan.

Point 3- Still like how Michigan saves its first night game for ND and not it's "rival" OSU.

Point 4- Excuses are like a**holes, everyone has one.

Point 5- Let's hope ND can prove it on the field.

Point 6- UM is a horrible place to watch game, especally being a ND fan, I'm sure UM fans feel the same as being at ND. MSU is rapidly catching up though.

Go back to your own boards and join the discussion on Al Borges' comment that Denard will run for 1,000-1,200 in his offense.

Umm... ND admitted that Meyer was the first choice and that's why they canned Tyrone when they did in the season. Meyer had shown a lot of interest in the job but then realized how much easier it was to coach at a place like Florida and recruit locally with a family. Can't imagine how bad his stress issues might have been had he gone to ND.

Not every fan overrates their team. The majority of people on here said 8-9 wins.

Michigan fans DO NOT get the same **** at our games as we do at their games. That's just a fact.

Who cares. It'll all get settled on the field. Notre Dame is on the rise while Michigan is in rebuild mode.

Why do the trees in Indiana point north? Cause Michigan sucks.

But seriously, hate on Michigan all you want, but you can't hate on Brady Hoke. 4 seasons ago he was coaching an undefeated Ball State Cardinals team in my town of Muncie, Indiana. I hate to admit it, but he could drastically improve the team so long as he is given enough time to get the right personel seeing as Rich Rod's closest QB ever to pro style was Tate Forcier and now he is taking off. Guys think about this, Brady Hoke coached a lot better of a defensive game against Navy than our beloved Bob Diaco and with a lot less talent.
