Gotta admit that offense looked good with Buchner running it. However it was a bowl game so who knows 🤷♂️Maybe Gino shoulda got OC job? Lol.

Stand-up kid. Tough runner. Strong arm but poor accuracy. Gets hurt alot. I mean...Who knows.
I’m not really seeing some big upside/difference between Leonard and Buchner at this point though. That’s for sure.
Actually, Buchner might throw a better deep ball.
The problem is if we rolled with Buchner instead of Hartman and Leonard is, with how Buchner plays he would have likely got hurt and we would have had to go with Angeli for the bowl game last year and likely would be looking at Angeli starting at Purdue. In hindsight, I think nd had enough in backup talent with Angeli to just roll with Buchner over Hartman and Leonard. I think Buchner was just too sloppy with the ball for Freeman. Hartman and Leonard haven’t been much better. Could’ve save a couple of million dollars as well. It’s been one disappointment after the other since the South Carolina bowl game win
FWIW Hartman didn't throw a pick until his seventh game last year. He had two rough games (Louisville, and Clemson, tho IIRC his second pick there was a last-drive forced throw). And he had other limitations like being a surprisingly weak downfield passer. But he took care of the ball a lot better than we've seen Buchner and Leonard do.In hindsight, I think nd had enough in backup talent with Angeli to just roll with Buchner over Hartman and Leonard. A guy as a good guy main character in a Lifetime movie? They'll have to find some new writers. lolWould make for one hell of a lifetime movie.
I mean, he did lose to MarshallBuchner beats NIU
Does he though?Buchner beats NIU
Yep he's on the sidelines signaling in plays. Have seen him on TV a few times.I thought he was back in the team this year?
Dead. I’m dead.I mean, he did lose to Marshall
Yes and more injuries than TDsDoesn’t Buchner still have more int’s than TDs over his career?
But he does have a touchdownYes and more injuries than TDs
ND needed Hartman last season and I don't think it would've worked out with the Pyne/Buchner experience, I was never impressed with Buchner at all. Nice story that Buchner came back to ND. After Rees left that put Hartman in a bad situation, with Hartman this season & with what Leonard has we 100% beat NIU.FWIW Hartman didn't throw a pick until his seventh game last year. Either way, right or wrong, there would've been riots if they hadn't brought in a top transfer after the Pyne/Buchner Experience. Maybe this year we didn't need Leonard. But hindsight is 20/20.
Buchner beats NIU
Remember the Leonard throw against A&M that would've been a pick six for the bad guys if Jayden Thomas doesn't wrestle it out of the DB's hands? Eerily similar to the one Buchner threw against Marshall. Same WR even. You had me until Marshall.
I think we score more points with TB playing against NIU, but they probably do too with the multiple pick 6's.
I also think this NIU team beats the pants off Marshall.
