Wow, I lived there. You can see my old back yard in the news video. This hits too close to home. I know the survivor. Just wow....

Wonder what the #blacklivesmatter folks would have to say about this.
Completely beside the point! Let's pray for all involved and leave the non-sense to you.
due to content/scene similar to today's violence, USA Network postponed the season finale of Mr Robot. Hate not being able to watch a finale I've been looking forward too, but happy to see the network being sensitive to the families. hats off to them.
.
I wasn't calling you a racist. That word gets thrown around way to often. I was just pointing out you hate this guy for politicizing this horrible act of violence, yet you made a politically charged joke. In rereading my original post I could have done a better job of making that point. I was going for pot and kettle and ended up with something completely different.
Why don't these crazy people go to the woods and just shoot themselves? There's no point in taking inoccent lives with you.
The media is a joke. We all know how this would be portrayed if it was the other way around and if don't think so you are oblivious.
If I'm seeing it correctly it shows 3 pics. One where the gun is raised, one with flash at the end of the barrel as it's fired, and one as it hits a victim? Disgraceful isn't a strong enough word.I'm not sure how to post images from my phone but take a look at tomorrow's cover for New York Daily News. It's an image from the shooters POV. Such a disgrace.

If you think it's besides the point you're completely naive to the point. Shooter himself has mentioned race as part of this, and blacklivesmatter advocates have come out and condoned his actions and even blamed the victims..if you think this dividing humanity with things like this #blacklivesmatter agenda garbage does not promote senseless tragedies like this then you're not living in the same world that stuff like this occurs in. This is completely a tragedy, and I too am praying for the victims and their families, but society as a whole plays a part in the rising occurrence of these tragedies. If you prefer to look the other way then that's your prerogative, but don't tell me I should too.

How would it be portrayed? What is the media doing wrong in your opinion?
What you're missing is that this isn't a case of a guy simply trying to make a statement about race. This guy was a classic "injustice collector". Sure he thought they were racist, but he also thought he should be on the news, he also thought the camera man unfairly recorded him during an angry rant. You are sticking to one very small piece of the story in order to fit into your specific narrative. This story has far more in common with the police officer from CA (who was fired and tracked down all of the people he blamed for it) then the shooter from SC. So please chill with the whole rhetoric thing, it simply isn't that relevant to the tragedy.
In the SC shooting, The Narrative was that this was all caused by white racism, "legacy of slavery," the existence of the flag of Northern Virginia, etc. Here, that narrative will not work, so the story has to be changed.
Just Google "Roanoke shooting hate crime terrorism" or "Virginia shooting hate crime terrorism" and you see what the press does not want you to think about this shooting.
If a story fits or is perceived to fit The Narrative, it is covered endlessly; if a story does not fit The Narrative, it is twisted so as to fit it. So this case is an example of "workplace violence," a "disgruntled employee," or even itself the result of white racism (is there anything that it can't explain?).
Don't count on Obama speaking at the victims' funeral, either.

Oh shut it and go back to the politics thread. There was no race based manifesto, there were no specific agenda because of the victims race. You guys are tying it simply because the shooter felt that the victims were racist towards him. It wasn't race that was the driver, it was a list of perceived injustices that the shooter believed. One of which was racism, but not the main factor. Nor were his victims chosen based on their race, they were picked because of their "perceived role" in the shooters "perceived injustices". A significant difference that makes this scenario far different than the SC shooter.
Sorry to mess up your constant barrage of political bull$hit that you constantly barrage us with.
Now, as you mentioned, was it the main thought behind the shooting itself? Probably not. But it appears that it was the main thought behind the targets chosen. Of course, headlines such as these will also increase some readership.
That simply isn't true. He didn't pick them because they were white, he picked them because he blamed them for his firing. They happened to be white and he happened to have targeted them as racist. They weren't indiscriminately chosen in order to wage a racist attack. It was entirely stemmed from his prior position and subsequent firing. The racism aspect of this situation is a data point in his anger, not the cause. Nor the direct reasoning behind his choice in victims.
I will contend this......the people of this country have to stop focusing on what divides us and instead look to what we have in common. This guy was nuts, no doubt about that. But can anyone honestly say that the divisive rhetoric spewing out of people's mouths didn't influence this or Roof? Both sides of the political spectrum are guilty of this, no doubt in my mind. I know it is probably a pipe dream, but I am really hoping that somehow, someway, the next election can help re-unite Americans. But I am afraid it won't and it will only make it worse.
THIS!! And my point wasn't whether the shooter's motives were race driven, it was more about every single time the shooter is white and the victim is black, BLM is all over it like white on rice, and here we have a roles reversed incident where the shooter himself brought race into it, whether it was his full intended motive or not...and I was wondering how BLM would spin it. Those who can't see that issues like this are symptoms of much larger, more powerful and more divisive issues are missing the big picture here and are instead trying to bully others into just shutting up about it while the real antogonists voices are being constantly heard loud and clear.
So you're mad that the news isn't spinning this story into a race war story instead of the truth, because that's how you feel they portrayed Roof? Who, I may add, chose his victims at random with the specific purpose of targeting their race.
Nice logic.
