Aaron Lynch is 19 years old, right? Give the kid a break. He's over a thousand miles from his friends. He got into a fight with a teammate. His coach probably chewed out both Aaron and Tate. His girlfriend isn't around. He has no father figure. His mother defends him and guides him as any caring mother would? He's working his tail off to keep up his grades. Quite a bit of pressure for any 19 year old to bear.

And what does he get for all of this? Every move he makes is questioned by some of the morons posting on IE.

Leave the kid alone. Let him think things through completely without the pressure to please someone else. If he decides to enroll elsewhere, then I wish he and his mother all the best. If he decides to sit out a year or even two to completely think things through, then who am I to judge.

Regarding any future return to Notre Dame, it's highly unlikely. But if he should decide to return to ND after giving the whole scenario some serious thought, I am in no position to accept or deny such a return. This is all about the team. I am not on the team, and I suspect most of the other posters on IE are likewise not part of the team. Any decision to accept a possible return should be left up to his coaches and his teammates.

His mother can assume any role she chooses. Only her love is unconditional. The love of ND football fans is very fleeting indeed, and this has been shown to be true every time there is a twist or turn in the recruitment process.

I'll continue to support anyone who has worn the blue and gold. I hope Aaron realizes his mother is his most trust-worthy source. Her motivation is not clouded by any unfulfilled dreams. I would have loved to play football for ND. It wasn't to be, but I will continue to support those who are fortunate enough to live my dream.

I have confidence in BK and the rest of the staff... they know what is going on with Aaron much better than we do Im sure. I dont feel like there were any bad feelings about him leaving (at least by Kelly's press conference) so maybe

With this being the last season of Desperate Housewives, and Sons of Anarchy waiting for new season I have some crazy drama possibly for awhile to tie me over. lol

To be fair, if someone was routinely interviewing me during my freshman year of college, I probably would have come across as if I didn't want to be there a lot of the time, too. You might be right about Aaron, but citing the interviews isn't that strong of an argument to me.

I think we're wasting our time talking about Aaron coming back, but in the general sense if a a kid in his position gave up, but then recognized his mistake and wanted back in and was ready to demonstrate his commitment, I'd give him that opportunity.

I've decided to enter the state of denial and remain their until if/when he actually transfers. Anybody who believes we are better without him is crazy. I will refrain from passing judgement as many have because that's all it is, judgement. And who are we to judge.

Has it even entered anyone's mind that Mommy might possibly be buying him some time to get through the semester with minimal conflict without the student body/fan base harassing the hell out of him before he transfers? This situation might be about as comfortable as entering an A$$ kicking contest with only one nub and a cocktail wiener.

I put the hahhaha from what i was told earlier today because i didnt want to believe it. Now Sampson is saying there is a chance i'll like to believe it. I dont know if he will be welcomed back with open arms but there is a chance.

yes dont like to come on here to blow smoke up your guys you know whats. But i am saying i dont see it happening, but wheres there is smoke there is usually a little fire going on. I am sure momma Lynch and Coaches are trying everything they can do at this point to keep Aaron in South Bend.

Part of me believes he can, and if this hypothetically happens, I will stand and cheer for the kid.

Because football wise and NFL wise it makes no sense. Nfl scouts will be all over ND tapes because of Manti. Double teaming Aaron with Tuitt, Teo, Shembo, Nix, Kona, will be tougher- in fact a lot tougher than at USF.
Also, Nfl GMs really, really hate red flags like this moe and more every year-just a fact-you drop 5-10 spots in the draft and it costs millions. Then you sit out next year. Makes no sense at all for NFL.

All that said-this was an emotional decision and over the next few weeks AL will realize it. If it was about a high school GF it was even more a stupid move. She could live near ND and not cost Aaron millions.

At any rate, I would want him back in a heartbeat, seen him in person at ND-was great with the fans. Stayed way overtime for pics and autographs with fans, very well spoken. Dont forget -you cant block him unless you hold him.

The reason I posted that last comment was because, if Aaron faces some homesickness now and "turns and runs" as it's been stated...

Then he would certainly have to man up to not only enter that locker room again, but to address his teammates (which apparently weren't very fond of him)
