Michigan plays on turf, too. The same stuff I believe. Not a competitive advantage. Remember the Rice game when a bouncing kickoff (punt?) flew right over our returner's head? Competitive disadvantage? No, just the way it is. For both teams.
Okay, I am not trying to pick on you. Just that logic; pardon me I have heard it a lot lately.
It is a huge advantage for a big fast team not to be mired down on a shiitty field at home.
It is a huge advantage to be able to practice in your stadium as much as you want.
It is a huge advantage to have the field in the same perfect shape the week after a huge rain during a game.
It is a huge advantage in presentation, both the look (beautiful) and the addition to the noise level, for the game time atmosphere.
So far it is all of the above versus, one kickoff that took a funny bounce? Hmmmm!
