A friend told me that you sometimes get the recycled rubber in your eyes when playing on field turf. This was like 10 years ago though. Anybody had that problem? That's the only downside I see. Well unless we get gold turf or something :)

Will we be coming out of ND stadium on turf with our new Under Armour jerseys this year? Or do the jerseys/UA come next year?

UA uniforms will be worn this coming football season. Contract ends with Adidas and starts with UA in June IIRC.

I only recall it getting in someones eye once during my 4 years playing on it. Now in your shoes and socks is a whole other story.

GK & Wooly ... Knock it off!!!

I fear that your sarcastic remarks (My favorite style of remark, BTW) will be taken seriously and come to idiotic fruition.

I'm getting on in years, have a bad leg and an ever-increasing expanse of forehead. I'm not sure that my heart could take much more!

I am one of the few around this neck of the woods (IE, i.e.) that have an attachment to a grass field and affection for a "plain" field. As a "tree-hugger" I value the natural and view artificial "turf" an abomination. It is an affront to Mother Nature. It is yet another misguided attempt by mankind to misshape the natural order.

I think that ND should respect and pay homage to Our Lady, her Son and His Father, by allowing seeds not sown on rocky, barren grounds to grow and flourish.

Besides, when all is said and done, I like mud.

will it help that they will put a giant UnderArmor logo in the middle of the field?

Yea it does happen from time to time.

I've coach 7-8th graders since 05. Our home is a Chicago Park District grass field but most of the suburban teams play at local high school turf fields so I say I've coach 40-50 games on field turf since 05. I've only had the issue with the black stuff getting in a player's eye once.

In four years of high school ball prior to my coaching days we had 0 zero issues with turf.

It is kind of funny, all my nature loving, tree hugging friends, would love nothing more than to get rid of all the grass, stadium, lawn, and otherwise. Turns out that all that you can plant and mow is a Northern European transplant or a hybrid from said. American grasses are longer, and wild; they don't make pretty lawns.

Also, native North American bees don't sting.

Did you just make a reference to a modern, not-80-years-old, song??

I'm sure it was a mistake or by accident.

Yeah. "Oh, and watch that last step – it's a doozy!"

What do you think?

And the song is only 47 years old, you techno-pop punk, you!!!

I wouldn't mind a little sunshine right now. I haven't seen it since around noon on Saturday.

My (natural turf) yard appreciates the precipitation but would also appreciate the sweet caress of some warm sunshine.
