Trump will no longer run for president, per CNN. He had taken a beating lately.

I would have liked to see him destroy folks in debates, but he is just to egotistical and vilified to be President with hair that bad.

I would still take him over Obama any day.

Anyone who actually belived "the donald" was a serious person that was actually planning to run for office----consider yourself one of the "Succers born everyday"---trump was never out for anything but ratings and ironically he may have buried his own reality show!

Agreed, 100%. Oh, and Sarah Palin is also playing your conservitives for your money too. She has NEVER had any ideas on running.

I think he is too focused on his golf empire. I watch Trump Worlf of Golf and he seems to hate the fact that he doesnt have time to play golf or visit any of his Trump National Clubs being built....

eh, I think he had an honest hook...the logical business man...Ross on Roids is what we were about to see...but herman cane does Ross better than even Ross does Ross...So why run if you are the Donald.

I don't argue the Donald is all about the pub...but I think in this case he was genuinely pissed at where we are as a nation...and yea, I think he's worried about the potential impact to him if someone doesn't shut down the insanity in DC...not saying the man's heart is pure...but he can fight...and dirty doesn't seem to bother him.

You can bet the man in the whitehouse today is glad this didn't continue...Obama would win, but he'd get the hell beat out of him doing it...

Palin may have enough self awareness to know she is too polarizing to win the presidency. She is finding a lot of power and influence as a commentator and cheerleader for tea party candidates. A quality, sustainable movement needs to start from the groundup and the 2010 elections are largely underrated by the common media. Today's state representatives are tomorrows Senators, Governors and Presidents.

Guy is making too much money doing what he's doing. He said his piece, and I like that he ruffled some feathers, got his air time and now he's back to making millions.

It wasn't whether he could do it or not, he's got about the same amount of experience as the guy in office now, it's just that it doesn't pay enough.

Bummer. His idiocy was going to be entertaining. At least Huckabee, Palin, Gingrich, and Santorum are still idiots I can laugh at. And Romney is pretty awful as well. This should be fun.

...I'm likely the minority on IE...but to we few conservatives, the Deck of the Titanic contained more to laugh at...

Any of Hunstman, Cain, Romney, or Pawlenty will beat BO. If the Gulf war did not carry Bush Senior, killing Bin Laden isn't going to carry BO. Both will have lost due to stagnant economies.

BO is going home along with Turbotax Timmy, Election Fraud Eric , and the rest of the boys (yes Hillary is a dude). BO and Jimmy Carter will have tons of stuff to commiserate about...and Chris Mathews will have more alone time with BO real soon.

Its all Good!

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!"

Keep on keepin' on!

the only way BO loses is if he says "...read my lips, no new terrorists". H.W. went down, after an 80-something percent approval rating because he raised taxes after we read his lips. it had nothing to do with the Gulf war carrying him or not. it had everything to do with keeping your word.

Trump is a business man, he didnt want to spend his money on a race he cant win.

this marks the end of my political commentary on this board, thank you

The teabaggers won't let someone like Romney get the nomination. Cain is a huge joke, and Pawlenty isn't any party rallying candidate either. GOP has screwed themselves big time for the presidential election in 2012 by going so far right.

I disagree...if we throw politicians out for things like that, BO is done. GITMO is his "read my lips", and he isn't losing over that...he is losing precisely because he is the man in the chair at the time when the economy is in the crapper. He gets shown the door.

I'm a Tim Pawlenty fan personally. Although if I could pick anyone it'd be Chris Christie.

Easy to say, perhaps, as someone who hasn't lived with asinine dictums he was able to conjure, and pass and/or "line item veto" with specious fear-based threats to the Minnesota commonweal. "No new taxes" gave way to reduction of existing taxes and the increase of cherry-picked "fees."
The result has been a precipitous slide in Minnesota's ranking as a top state with regard to quality of education, infrastructure necessities and "quality of life" tangibles.

Scale back on the Reagan-based pre-tax deductions on FICA and ...

Fugh. This is not a political/economics board. Carry on.

ECONOMY, UNEMPLOYMENT, NATIONAL DEBT, IMMIGRATION, TRADE DEFECEIT, HEALTH CARE, BAILOUT(S), INFLATION, DOMESTIC ENERGY POLICY, ...does any of it go in the plus column...?

...Wondering if anyone on the GOP side loses, so in that case, does it even matter who the GOP runs?

YUP...the Donald thrives on confrontation...BO thrives on...THE TELEPROMPTER and Teed up questions. In a live, impromptu debate...on nearly anything that matters, I'd pick the Donald, or Donald Duck for that matter.

Someones been watching Fox News again. Clearly you didn't watch the day he was invited into the meeting w Republican leadership, was the only Dem in the room, answered questions for hours upon hours and made them look like bufoons. It was so bad, Fox left the live broadcast while CSpan, CNN and others kept it rolling.

I'll say nothing about all the rest of this contentious stuff, but it might inform the --- er ---"debate" to mention a story given by one of America's most powerful businessmen [and a Republican] about Donald Trump:

T.Boone Pickins was talking about the future of US energy the other day on CSPAN. [I would suggest watching the CSPAN panels when you can as long as there are no politicians of either party on those panels; actual realworld expertise exists there]. The moderator asked Pickins [an Oil and Gas man] what he thought about Trump.

Pickins said that he'd come over to him recently and berated him for lacking common business sense in the matter of Oil prices. Trump said that all we need to do was to go to the Saudi's and TELL them what we will pay them for their oil. Pickins, literally, rolled his eyes at this profound stupidity. He, being a fairly nice and humorous guy, recovered and told Donald: "I'll make you a deal. If you don't go into politics, I'll stay out of Real Estate."

Pickins then told the panel audience that despite being a Republican, he'd never consider voting for a person with Trump's level of understanding of world affairs nor his general approach to complex issues.

They're all Bush's fault. ;)
