My political hot take is if Trump focuses on unity (which is great) but takes his foot off the gas he will lose. The most fired up base votes. Hugs and things are cool but you have to dance with the girl that you brought to the dance. It will be interesting from a political perspective how he can balanced the two. I think this take is completely wrong but interesting nonetheless. I think if he calms himself down and focuses on unity while the left inevitably will not be able to keep their foot off of the "Trump is literally a fascist and will end democracy" rhetoric, you will see a lot of people on the middle wake up and realize the left is full of shit

I’ve been saying it since the debate but I think Trump wins in a landslide taking every battleground state and if he picks someone like Rubio (Latinos) or Youngkin (suburbs) he might win sweep everything but the west coast and northeast + Maryland.

Yeah at this point, the dude got shot. Everyone who is remotely a part of his base is coming out for him. "High Road" only adds voters, doesn't cost him a single one.

I sincerely hope its not Vance. Doesn't really add anything to the ticket, and he ran behind all other statewide republicans in Ohio. Rubio or Youngkin would be elite, Scott would be excellent, Burgum would be good, and wildcard Desantis or Haley pick would be the best thing for him.

VP needs to be an operator who can be his right hand man groomed to take the lead in 4 years. Won't happen b/c it never happens but that is the best route IMO. Anyone promoting this "Trump is Hitler" "Threat to Democracy" bullshit is partially responsible for that father/husband/fireman dying in the crowd. The rhetoric against Trump has been insane for 8 years. I agree with everything. My only “worry” (more of a thought) is that shootings change people. Putting my social worker hat and working LEOs from local to DHS/ICE… everyone is a bad ass until getting involved in a shooting. It legit changes people. Trump is a guy that has lived in the ivory tower and thinks he’s invincible. Hard to believe he would be unfazed, i’m just curious how this changes Trump in general. And if this incident makes him soft, that’s not what got him here. Probably way too close to the election to even matter anyway.

Very telling in the time of rapid news event that networks were lightyears behind Twitter. Yeah you have to take everything with a grain of salt and accept there will be hoax BS filtered in, but by and large amazing real time information, video and updates. I don't think Desantis has a chance b/c Trump will hold a grudge for him even trying. If they could go full Apollo Creed in Rocky's corner it would have huge potential. Desantis knows how to get shit done and I think their policy lines up very well so they can trust each other where it counts. Desantis probably needs the coattails since he doesn't have enough charisma/gravitas to get their on his own, then again maybe Trump just sucks all the air out of the room and the 2028 dynamic will be more to his benefit.

Vivek is my favorite. Get serious about reducing the size and scope of government with unlimited upside to take the mantle in 4 years. He needs a visible spot in the cabinet if he isn't VP.

Thats exactly what happened. Hannity was just reminding the world how Hannity has been fighting for protection for RFK… who I assume by the interview wasn’t getting any.

Youngkin is trending slightly on Twitter, so I'm assuming that's the speculation. Vivek or Carson might be others as it seems like most of the talk recently has been Scott, Vance, Rubio Bergum and Haley.
