No one "won" the national popular vote because that isn't a thing. How many first down contests did we win this year?

She also won big in the Whole Foods vote, the guys who wear skinny jeans and live with Mom vote, among Prius owners, and the very important voting block of people who block highways because they think they are helping.

All real contests.

Well that's basically the policy of Israel, which is why they catch so much flack from entities that care about human rights and specifically from developed nations that got together and agreed after World War II that they were going to hold other developed nations accountable.

It's pretty sad that the Holocaust and the Nazis' desires to force Slavs off their land gave Zionists the political capital to found Israel and start an apartheid state with similar intentions for the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who lived/live there. Two wrongs don't make a right and you'd think the Israelis of all people would be leading the effort to not repeat mistakes from history.

And it's mindblowing how American Conservatives continue to be the only major political entity in the developed world who refuse to even acknowledge the shady actions of a peer nation in the region. The AIPAC has the GOP wrapped around its finger.

You can blame also all those historically who persecuted the Jews as well. That includes the Arab world going way way back when they first booted the Jews out and later throughout history many times. You can blame also Russia, the Nazis, and most of Europe who at one time or another persecuted or booted the Jews. It's not only the Nazis not by a long shot.

All that said I'm no fan of Israeli settlements and believe they need to agree on a land divide and stick to it. And that said let's not act like Pals have honored every agreement in the past or been model citizens. No fan of either side but I know what is best for the US.

Land divides or land for peace deals only work if all parties genuinely want peace.

My wife has been a Prius owner since 2005. Her Prius had a "Hillary For Prison" bumper sticker before Hillary announced to run.

Your attempt to pigeonhole people failed.

Puh-lease........... so anyone who doesn't condemn Israel doesn't care about human rights? As for the developed nations that agreed to hold other developed nations accountable; how many of those nations condemned Egypt for occupying the Gaza Strip, or Jordan for occupying the West Bank, until Israel seized those areas from Egypt and Jordan after Egypt, Jordan, and Syria attacked them in 1967's Six-Day War?

It's pretty sad that the Holocaust and the Nazis' desires to force Slavs off their land gave Zionists the political capital to found Israel and start an apartheid state with similar intentions for the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who lived/live there. I must have missed the part where Israel is rounding up Palestinians and shipping them off to Death Camps? The truth is that NO ONE has ever given a rat's ass about the Palestinians, including other Arabs. The other Arab countries have only resisted the largely European migration of Jews to their sphere.

And it's mindblowing how American Conservatives continue to be the only major political entity in the developed world who refuse to even acknowledge the shady actions of a peer nation in the region. The AIPAC has the GOP wrapped around its finger.

No more mind blowing than how liberals make every excuse in the book for minorities in America that choose to burn their own neighborhoods down, to protest the conditions that they live in.

The Israel/Palestine issue is a highly complex subject which goes back to, well, forever...
I'm surprised Buster was short in is rhetoric as normally he is the one preaching complexity.

I personally have no dog in the fight. I think both sides have acted badly and deserve each other at this point. The Jews have had it worse historically and were booted from just about every place they ever lived... so i understand where they are coming from, but still doesn't give them the right to do what they are doing. The Pals are no better. Hamas is well, Hamas not to mention other groups.

Polls show that most on both side are in agreement to a two state situation. The problems are the crazies on both sides and several core issues. I think the biggest being Jerusalem. I just don't see either side being sensible enough to compromise.

And if neither is going to be the good guys, then I'm siding with the one that is really the only pro US country in the ME. Well, hopefully they will still be pro-US after the BS Obama pulled.

I hope Trump repairs what has soured the last XX years. But I also hope he tries to get both sides to come back together and finally do something meaningful that can last. I'm not holding my breath though.

And you're spot on about other Arabs not giving a shit about the Pals. Hell they (other Arab nations) won't even let Pal refuges in.

It's not that surprising. There is a strong contingent of biblical literalists within and in positions of power in the GOP that believe that the reestablishment of the historic kingdom of Israel will fulfill biblical prophecy, bring on Armageddon (which ironically will lead to the destruction of Israel) and result in the second coming.

Pretty much all of Palestein.

All of what the PLO claimed was Palestine, all of what the traditional homeland of the Palestinians, or all of what was under Palestinian control, when the world recognized Palestine as a state, in 1988?

Sounds like your position is closer to Obama's "it's about time the Israelis hit the break pedal so we can at least try for peace in the future" position instead of the Republican Party's "what Palestine? They're all terrorists anyway!" position.

My rhetoric was only directed at the GOP's unwillingness to even talk about the Palestinian plight. Obama's ambassador just stepping to the sidelines for a vote is enough for them to pull their hair out. They give Israel carte blanche and the result is more and more of the same over there.

All of what is left of present day Palestein. That would be one contiguous Jewish state from Jordan to the Mediterranean, with Egypt to the south and Lebennon to the north. It's pretty clear Israel no longer has any interest in a "two state solution" and or allowing Arabs equal rights as citizens.

Two state solution is dumb and practically unworkable at this point anyway. So is the idea of a jewish or an arab state. Only lasting peace will involve a: both sides dropping the right of return and b: the entire country from the Jordan to the Mediterranean unifying as a liberal democracy that gives equal rights to all its citizens.

Will never happen but neither will a real two state solution that results in two fully sovereign states.

a two state scenario might be bigger than a trip to the moon, but a unified liberal democracy is bigger than a trip to an alternate universe.

Polls show that majority on both sides agree it's (2 state) the only answer, so at least both sides can envision that solution. I'd gander a very small portion on either side would even consider a united country.

Hell you can't call for the annihilation of Israel and be open to unity... And the Jews would nuke the ME before they would ever give up rule given their history. The US has also proven you can have equal rights and be a nation divided. With 75% Jews and only 21% Arab can you imagine how well equal rights would work to bring unity...

what an idiot.

Yeah, I mean, the NERVE of those fucking Jews, huh?

Forget the fact that they withdrew from Gaza in 2005, with Israeli Army forces enforcing withdrawal on any Israeli citizens who refused to leave the settlements. So what did the Arabs do?

- They destroyed the greenhouses left behind that could have facilitated food production.

- They elected Hamas to govern Gaza, and then allowed Hamas to turn Gaza into Cape Canaveral for rocket attacks on Israel.

So tell me again how unsympathetic the Israelis are? And why that's a bad thing?

'You cannot eat here': Hawaii café riles residents with ban on Trump voters | Fox News

Those wacky Libs...
So it's not OK to not bake a cake for some, but it's OK to do this....

How amusing...so it's not okay to refuse business to a customer that violates one's religious beliefs, but it's okay to refuse business to someone based on their political ideology? Hypocrisy, how does it work?

If you go to the Yelp page listed in the article, there are 37 pages of reviews...and 29 of them came in today with mostly 1 star reviews. You really open yourself up to criticism when you send a political message like this at an eating establishment.

Funny those who "publically" preach tolerance and acceptance are finding it hard to walk the walk themselves.....

They are probably all pissy claiming political persecution now....

This really needs to go beyond message board banter.

Seriously, why isn't there legal action being taken?

Remember that time a week or so ago in which Trump supporters lamented the fact that the racists among them were giving them a bad name and wished the media and general population would realize that those people don't represent most of them?

Not a week goes by where you guys aren't posted isolated incidents and painting all of liberalism with the broadest brush at your disposal.

So it's not OK to not bake a cake for some, but it's OK to do this....

There are an infinite number of legal discriminations available to people. The question on that issue is whether or not someone's sexual preference should be added to the protected classes list like race, sex, age, disability, etc. A shop owner is still, get this, free to discriminate for any other reason they like.

The government in Hawaii took years to find a copy of the President's birth certificate. The most important Hawaiian on the national scene. You think they're gonna find time to get over that backlog to deal with a liberal bigot?

Maybe Loretta Lynch has some free runway time available for a "chance" tête-à-tête in the next 3 weeks.

It's not surprising that new rumors are circulating that point to the birth certificate being a forgery. You WOULD think that a man running for President would have his birth certificate in order in advance, or would at least be able to access it readily if it was legit.

Whoa! I wasn't going after a forgery. I just found it incredible that a party-partisan state government couldn't find a damn birth certificate, particularly for their most famous US birth.

I gotcha, but there was some rumblings recently about forgery of the birth certificate. I was just saying it lends itself to the theory that something hinky was going on with it given the fact it took them ages to procure said birth certificate for such an important person.
