water was pretty cold but my 20 month old daughter waded into 3 different lakes in one day:

Lake Leelanau
Grand Traverse Bay
Lake Michigan

Kids have no fear haha

Heading back up north again this weekend to a friend's cabin on Lake Huron at Rogers City. Gonna pop over to Petosky, one of my favourite towns up there.

Cack, how's the weather down there in the late winter / early spring? We're thinking of Hilton Head the week of March 11. I know it won't be beach weather but will I at least be able to walk around outside without freezing to death?

My wife and I are looking in to a cruise next November. I have never been on one. Anyone have any pointers.

Nah I had to cancel that. I was going for my buddy's ordination to the transitional diaconate, and instead I'll be going to his priestly ordination in Madison, WI next June.

Booked a round trip flight to Dublin for only $240 early December. Gonna hit a few other countries while there.

Hell no. First of all, I think we figured out that there was no chance of us being there at the same time. Second, if there had been, I would've fought harder to make this work. We would've had a lot of fun. Third, it's just been a crazy expensive summer, and I ended up taking way more PTO than I had anticipated, so I just couldn't make it work. Plus, September is more expensive than when I normally want to go (November).

Do you still need tips and stuff of where to go? Remind me again which cities you're making it to

Nah, my 'advisers' have worked all that out... I'm just along for the ride at this point... we are going to Rome, Naples, Venice, Capri, Pompei, and a few others... really only spots we aren't at least stopping in that I thought, "well that sucks" are Milan and Turin.

Honestly you're hitting the big places, minus Florence. But now you'd have an excuse to go back and spend a week or two in Tuscany

Norwegian Airlines? That shit is amazing. They just started flying out of Hartford, $200 round trip to Edinburgh.

OMG. I'll have to look into that... we are going to Mexico for our ten year next summer but after that I think the next big trip has got to be Scotland.

About ready to board the Surfliner (Amtrak) down to SD for the U2 Concert tonight. Get home and then the wife and I jump on a plane to Oahu for our anniversary. Have not been to Oahu since I played baseball over there in college. I seem to remember bars and a couple of baseball fields and that is it. Actually surprised I am able to remember anything.
