The coaches should be aware by today of any players that have currently made up their mind, there's probably some people still on the fence.

Like you said, you're practicing today and playing in the bowl or you're not.

I don't think it's soft. And it's not their faults. It's Bear Momma's and Road Grader parents who clear all the paths so Junior has no obstacles to face. Performing at college is the first time many of these young men had to face equal better competition without mom or dad (or uncle or pop warner coach) clearing all the hurdles away.

Where did all the tough love parents go? Tough love parents/advisor said, "figure it out or fail. And sometimes son, when you fail, you actually learn. And you understand the effort you need." That doesn't exist in our society anymore (at least not in much of what I've seen with kids). Now, when things get tough, Bear momma and Bulldozer dad fix it all.

However, I think there will be some very good data very shortly about how comparably ranked kids perform when they stay, when they portal 1x, or they portal 2x or more. My instinct tells me that those that stay will be the highest performers (consistency of approach coupled with the attitude to solder through). I think this is especially true for the talent positions where changing systems has the potential to push them backwards. I think the 2x plus portal kids will be those that simply can't cut it, and 1x will be someplace in between. Once that information starts coming in, then there will be some empirical analysis about the upside/downside to staying or leaving. Right now, it doesn't feel there is any downside, and Bear Momma or Bulldozer Dad says "it's ok Junior, you are right - the grass is always greener."

Thomas and Colzie coming back is huge. They are both better than Merriweather. Thomas also has two years left of eligibility
