The wife and I went up to Purdue to see our granddaughters work as part of the senior classes graphic design exhibition. Stopped at the McDonalds on campus. Went in to take care of mother nature. Felt like I had walked into a version of the Twilight Zone. Everyone looked to be about 18-21. Not a soul was older. There's about 25 kids in there and they are symmetrically spaced throughout the dining room and every head was looking down into their phones. It was as quiet as a library. Walked into the restroom and there was a kid at the urinal taking a leak with one hand and looking at his phone with the other. Must have been some hypnotic spell that had been cast in the Mickey D's. lol

Similar to orange growers in FL. When they know a hard freeze is coming they run the sprinklers so the oranges have a protective layer of ice.

while this makes his cleanup efforts easier, did he lose out on any potential insurance coverage since this was intentional?

My grandparents lived in Duggar. When we went to Linton, I remember seeing the sign from back around 59-60. At that time the sign was a giant arch that spanned over the top of the road as you came in.

I will be shocked if they find Hoffa.

How would they even determine if the body is Hoffa's if they find one? Dental matching has got to be the only way at this point, provided they have reliable records to go on. DNA testing, maybe? But the authorities would need reliable DNA to match to. At this point, finding Hoffa's body wouldn't be that big a deal. It's overwhelmingly likely that he got kidnapped and murdered due to a mob contract on him. Finding his remains with bullet holes in it wouldn't be that world-shaking. Now finding out for certain who pulled the trigger and who ordered the hit is a different story.

I just had a group project on Hoffa in one of my classes,… I find very few of the younger generation know who he is/was

Assuming they find a body, DNA is likely the key and shouldn't be hard to determine. Overall, it wouldn't be a big deal today like it would be back in the 70's. It would however answer one of the great mysteries of the 20th century as it's up there with DB Cooper.

This story says he's buried in New Jersey.

I'm not sure why they would know him. A union leader that disappeared 50+ years ago? Yeah that's not really making an impact on kids lol.

I mean, one of the ~ten biggest figures in America during that era,… plus his disappearance. Idk, I lament the way we approach and teach history in this country.

I thought about that and realized that when I was a HS and college student in the '70s and '80s, I'd been taught quite a bit about history and important people of 50 years before. My generation was certainly aware of major crimes, missing celebrities, big historical events, important people, and so on of the '20s and '30s.

But you don't know about basic historical events like what led to fascist regimes or that the political parties switched platforms? You're a moron dude

So was mine but I graduated literally one year before the STEM push and all that,… anyway that’s another topic entirely

You mean I don't parrot woke leftist liberal ideology? Yep, I'm pretty ignorant of that nonsense. I was too busy getting through med school to learn that stuff.

There's no intellectual conversation to be had with you
Of course there is. You just have to stick to facts and rational discussion instead fo fantasy, nonsense, insults and name calling. You got mad today and lost. Try again another time and be factual and rational.
