I'm screwed.

FYI Amazon sells home forging kits. Looks like my weekend is now planned.
I need to buy some land so that I can hike to my forging kit while reading a book and playing an instrument, simultaneously. After I've cooked a delicious meal, of course. A meal that was procured by a bow and arrow crafted by my own woodworking, finished with the finest paint jobs, also of my own doing. I'll take photos of all of this so you know that I'm not full of shit, after I've completed my travels to foreign nations, all of which I can speak the native tongue, naturally. How can I afford all of this, you ask? Not to brag, but I'm an astronomer.

Cooking, Woodworking, & Archery. Much needed hobbies combat the homeliness, lack of hair, yellow teeth, heroin addiction, IBS, and an extra 55 pounds.

Also, a quick review of the poster seems worthy of a follow.

I bought a new laptop today. Holy cow, the sticker shock. I upgraded a bit to something nicer and more powerful than before, but still. I budgeted about 1.5 times what I paid for my last one in 2019 but ended up paying almost 3 times as much today for my new one. I didn't realize they'd gone up so much.

Good thing you bought it now before those tariffs kick in 😂

Bishop my friend..
Is the number of accountants on this board the reason you are mysteriously not using real $$$. Pretty sure none are currently working for the IRS

But on a serious note what kind of laptop did you get? I'm a big tech nerd and I'd stay away from intel devices currently. They've been having a bunch of issues with their last 3 generations of their cpus. Would hate for it to crap out on you if that was the case

I just got home from my daughters 7th grade basketball game. Never in my life have I seen 2 officials be that piss poor in a game. It was almost like a football game broke out in the middle of a basketball game, but her team looked at the other team, they called a foul. I'm usually calm and reserved for my daughters sake, but I had to go stand by the door they went into after the game to tell them they were fucking clowns. Sorry....had to vent. Considered writing the IHSAA and let them know how inept they were....they're going to get someone hurt

I got a higher end Asus with an Intel Core i9-13980HX (13th Gen) processor. Hopefully I don't have issues with it. I didn't load it up with lots of RAM or hard drive from the factory. Bought it stock but ordered an additional 32GB of RAM and two 4TB SSD hard drives that I'll install myself. That added a lot to the total cost, but less than if I'd ordered it with that from the factory, of course.

What sort of issues are typical?
Let me find an article or reddit thread on it. I think it's less prone on laptops but I know the hospital I work at had some issues with a batch that we ordered of 13th gen Intel. I'll dm you the article once I can find it

I buy all the hardware for our company. Found a great source for refurbished PC’s and laptops. These are current models and come with a One year warranty. Only had one bad desktop in three years. You might consider going that route the next time.

I’ve been a long-time Cub fan and I just found out that the Cubs were originally called the White Stockings. My mind is blown. It feels like something I should’ve known.
