Damn man, good for you. Congrats!! I did my first half in 2022, and I thought it was hard training in the summer in MI. Can't even imagine training in FL. I hate treadmills, LOATHE them, so idk if I'd even be able to do it.

I also said I'd never run a full after completing my half, but two years removed, I kind of want to try it. I miss the grind of training. Was never in better shape. I always hated the long training runs when they were looming over me the day of, but loved the feeling of accomplishment when I did 10+ miles.

Congratulations again man, that's an amazing accomplishment.
It’s definitely a grind. Almost another mini job and having to dedicate 2+ hours on the weekends for long runs and keep the schedule throughout the week. Getting ready to not have the trainer app dictate my workout schedule lol

Yeah, I reserved my long runs for Friday's when I did my half. I think that's the smart way to do it. I say "long" given that prior to my half, I would jog maybe 2 miles per workout, so getting up to 6, 7, 8+ was "long" for me. But I liked doing the Friday evening long run so that I could finish it and then look forward to my weekend thereafter.

Since the race, I jog 5.5 miles regularly 3-4 times a week. That's been my max, but it's more than I can say before the half, so I guess i can be thankful for that.

Leaning towards doing the full in 2025, if I can get rid of some lingering minor knee pain.

I've done a half, that was enough for me and brutal on my frame (6'3", 220lbs). I try to stick to zone 2 cardio, lifting, and pickleball these days. yes, I said pickleball, come at me.

We had four new garage doors installed with openers for all four. Our second garage is attached to the house with a breezeway. We had it built to match the house about ten years after we built our house. Neither of the doors in the second garage had openers. Installers went to plug them in and the overhead outlets had no power! Installer couldn't figure it out and neither could I. I called a friend who's an electrician. He gets there and after five minutes tells me the outlets aren't tied into anything! The builder messed up, but I never had a need to use them in all these years so I never knew. It was a 10 minute fix. lol

Rich my ass. lol Those doors had seen their better days. Replacing was a necessity. I do have this sitting in the garage. It's my wife's.

What's the over/under on how many times the phrase "useless as tits on a boar" was used in reference to the eunuch outlets in question that day?

Couldn't remember which thread was discussing McDonald's constantly broken ice cream machines and how McDonald's franchisees were not free to use whoever they wanted to fix the machines.

Anyone know much about Rock Island, IL? I've been solicited to apply for a job there with the Army. Job itself seems very appealing but I don't know anything about Rock Island.

The other locations are Huntsville AL, and Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD but they haven't posted open positions there yet.

If you're in the Indy area, I could use some garage space to store this thing. I don't drive it all that much, but I do like to have it nearby when I need to cruise to the Irsay Y to fight and get my money from my ho's.

Don't know how many on here have ever done jury duty....but do it. I was pissed when I got the letter a couple weeks ago, and Monday when I was selected as a juror....but it turned out to be a much more fascinating experience that I'm glad I did. Never imagined my first time being a juror would be a murder trial in little ol Huntington

My brother-in-law and I visited the Rock Island Arsenal Museum and First Army Headquarters a few months back. Kind of a worn out old river town vibe, but probably a decent quiet place to raise a family. The Quad Cities area is bigger than you think. I have never been to Huntsville, but my cousin's kid lives down there and loves it. Aberdeen is pretty close to just about everything on the East Coast, orders of magnitude more things to do if that is what you are looking for.

I'm screwed.

I've got reading and cooking. Instrument? I played the recorder back in the day and could probably still play a mean Hot Cross Buns, so I'm including it.

I'm sorry, but hiking? What woman finds that more attractive than lifting weights, running or playing a sport as alternative forms of exercise?

Blacksmithing is also hilarious, what percentage of dudes are blacksmithing? Objectively badass but seems like an add one to add in 2024, not 1824.
