Didn't really know where to post this, but figure here would be an alright spot. Have yall seen the T-Mobile internet commercials with John Travolta and the dudes from Scrubs doing that song from Grease? I stopped into T-Mobile today for something unrelated. Grabbed their interest service on a two week free trial. Took it home and it actually rips. My previous Spectrum was 100 MBPS and would download about 90 MBPS. This T-Mobile internet has been averaging about 260 MBPS for the same price as Spectrum. Going to continue testing it for a bit, but looks like I can finally get our from under the Spectrum umbrella for good.

Not sure where you live, but a friend of mine does fiber and he said t mobile is really trying to compete with Att and Verizon.

That'd make sense. I live in Tampa, FL. I've seen some reviews online about losing internet when TMobile upgrades their towers and I've gotten like 10 messages in the last two months about tower maintenance from them. I'll let yall know how it shakes out.

No radio unless they're tethered to a surface vessel, which they aren't. I hate to say it, but they are very likely dead due to a hull failure, or a power failure that makes it impossible to return to the surface.

A hull failure is, BY FAR, the better option. A power failure leaves you cold and slowly running out of air, knowing you're gonna die. A hull failure is essentially instant death. Due to the high pressures at that depth, a hull failure results in an instantaneous compression of the sub's air down to a few cubic inches, heating it to about 2000 degrees. That completely liquifies and vaporizes anyone in the sub in less than 1/100th of a second. They never even know anything has gone wrong and there's no suffering.

The sonar from the ship it went down from did not detect a crumpleling or an explosion. Families are being told the believe they are still alive.

A billionaire, a business mogul and his SON, a French diver and the owner/operator of the sub.

I've been wanting to get out from under the Spectrum umbrella for awhile. Cincinnati Bell is taking their sweet time getting fiber up here, and no one else offers cable in our area. Spectrum has had a monopoly here for quite awhile, and it seems like every other year they increase the price. I heard that T-Mobile service is offering $50/month for life, but I didn't know how good the service was.

I would think the would have a cable on it. This way the could winch it up. Yes I understand that’s a lot of cable but you would think it would be a safety measure.
There's no cable due to the length and possibility of getting entangled. Takes two hours to descend or ascend which could be critical if they are lucky enough to be found.

Latest report is searchers have picked up a clanging sound, like someone may be tapping the hull with a metal object. They're trying to hone in on where it's coming from.

They had about 40 hours of oxygen as of Tuesday evening (correct me if I am wrong).

Reports that they found a new debris field where they would have expected the sub to be... strange if true bc what were the reports of banging then??

Yeah, that's that. As noted earlier in the thread,... this is the best news we could have reasonably hoped for at this stage,... This implies a much quicker end than slow suffocation. However, I do wonder if they were running out of time and decided to go on their own terms,... that could fit the reports of banging yesterday.

Actor Julian Sands has been missing since January 13th. Sands, a British actor who's been in several hit movies and TV shows (Oxford Blues, A Room With A View, The Killing Fields, and 24), went hiking in the San Gabriel mountains northeast of Los Angeles on the 13th and hasn't been heard from since. His car's been located and his phone pinged on the 15th, but that's it. Search & rescue hasn't found any sign of him and have been hampered by storms in the area. There's reportedly been some signs of an avalanche in the area also. Officials are still calling it a search & rescue mission, but it's not looking good.

Human remains have been found in the area where Sands disappeared. No identification confirmed yet, but they're believed to be his.

sizzlin' hot here in Texas, 100+ every day with index around 110 - 115. these are the days down here that are the polar opposite (no pun intended) of brutal sub freezing weather up north in the winter, and when outdoor activity is greatly diminished. And it's just mid June....this can last until September. passing clouds are always welcome.

Big storm just rolled through town. Three trees fell into my yard, each from a different neighbors yard. Two of the trees destroyed my fence. The neighbors are all currently watching me from their windows as I saw them up. Humans suck.

On a positive, my wife is watching me from the window. Maybe this will be my “wasps nest” moment.

Dang, what a great opportunity for your neighbors to assist and get to know you. What if your house had been flattened....just stop and stare?

I mentioned this to my wife last night, saying "I thought I was a pretty fun guy to be around!". She happily informed me that I come across as scary and offensive. Thanks honey.

No joke. My Health app last week pinged me, "we've noticed a recent trend in your walking habits; you're no longer walking 6-10 miles a day!". Dumb app doesn't take into account that it's absolutely brutal outside

People are weird about catastrophic events. Back in '78, our subdivision was hit hard by a tornado. Fortunately our house had minor damage, but a street over about a dozen houses were leveled with a couple of deaths. So many people wanted to come and gawk at the destruction, that the police had to block off access to only those that lived in the subdivision.

The sad part was that they were all my age or younger. Everyone was capable. The inability to assist someone is a strange one to me

I must be getting used to the heat in Florida. I visited Nashville over the weekend. One morning I woke up and looked at the weather on my phone and it was 68 degrees. I was thinking "What the hell? I didn't even get a winter weather alert!"

I used to love escaping Ohio in December and visiting my grandparents in Florida. We'd be going from 20s-30s in temperature to 55/70. We'd be walking around in shorts and tank tops while the Floridians had sweaters and even some thick coats. They look at you like you're crazy.
