You can still find All-Sport too. At least I could in the barrio.

Encyclopedias on your book shelf
Not being forced to wear pads and helmets when biking/skateboarding - we knew how to take a fall
Spilling hot coffee on yourself not being a reason to sue
Actors and rock stars not feeling the need to be political activists
Heat sensitive fax paper
Spanking a child not being a criminal act
Double features at the movie theatre with cartoons in between the films

So you don't think they will see this anymore? Or that they will have to deal with it.

I don't get it either way. Musicians will certainly continue to be activists in the future and they have always done it (ex. Bob Dylan). That sounds like something that will be stable through generations.

They won't know what it was like when rock stars and actors didn't think that their stardom alone gave them the right to be political pundits.

Activism back when Dylan and Lennon and others were doing it was different. Back then, rock and roll WAS rebellion. Their message was powerful in their words and their music. These days, not so much. I don't really need the singer of Fall Out Boy telling me who I should vote for.

I disagree. Artists have always been activists. Not just larger than life stars like Dylan. Ever actually read what the words of Don McLean's American Pie mean? There are activists for every side too. In the past, there was a Lynard Skynard for every Neil Young. Today, for every message you hear from Fall Out Boy, Madonna and Beyonce', you get another side from Every Country Star, Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

It has always been the way it is today and will continue to stay the same, imo. You may not like the message of some artists, but that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

Can we drop the pretentious political and financial crap and stick with whimsical days of old..?

Video game arcades in the mall

In Denver, they have a new bar called "1UP" that is entirely made up of games that cost a quarter. Like Contra, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, pinball, etc. They serve 40's of Colt45 and Mad Dog 20/20. It's right downtown by Coor's field.

So awesome.

I actually thought of opening a place like that a few years ago, but didn't really think it would fly. Is that place busy?

Remember how crazy it was with arcade games? I remember watching some dude play PacMan for like a half hour because he had a pattern down. Then Dragon's Lair when it came out was mind blowing. But it was .50 and that was pricey. ;)
