Since the Braves fell out of contention back in mid-April I've been cheering for the Cubs to win it all.

Almost cried watching Howard's standing ovation today. Last member of the 2008 World Series winning Phillies. Crazy watching all the stars from your childhood retire and get old. Peyton, Kobe, KG, Duncan, A-Rod all within the last year

Such an identifiable voice. Been listening to Vin call games since I was a young kid. Amazing... and sad... that he is finally hanging it up. God Bless.

Mike Schmidt, Greg Luzinski and Steve Carlton retired a while ago. Oh sorry, did not know you meant your childhood.

Tim Salmon's final at bat, even though it happened well into adulthood, was mine... That was so bitter sweet.

I don't know what the hell I'm going to do without baseball this year... now that the sux are out I am going to just soak in every wonderful moment from now until the final out of The Series.... It's going to be one hell of a withdrawal this year I can already feel it.

Cleveland won too quickly,... They remind me of that Rockies team that just blew through the NL playoffs then had to sit and wait, and wait,... then by time The Series finally started they were ice cold.

I hope the same thing doesn't happen.

That was a terrible defensive play all around... Bad throw, terrible tag... The Cather had time just get in front of the plate, instead he goes all the way across the body and what should have been an easy out is saved by the replay booth....

I would normally agree but with Bauer's finger they need all the time they can get. There is also rumors Salazar may be able to come back for the World Series.

The White Sox went 11-1 in 2005 and were the team that was always waiting...they did alright.

Normally I would agree, but Cleveland's rotation and pen could use some rest. They are tired.

Yep....and it wasn't like their bats were lighting it up either. They scored enough and had enough big time hits / homers. Rest up the pen, get the starters comfortable with their schedule, hope the pinkie heals and Danny boy is available.

Looters left Ventura to die, according to unconfirmed reports

As the investigation around Yordano Ventura’s death continues, details are starting to emerge about just what happened that night. Now come disturbing allegations from the Dominican Republic about the incident. According to Euri Cabral, a Dominican journalist, on Zol de la mañana on 106.5 FM, Ventura was found alive but assaulted by looters and stripped of his World Series ring after crashing. These reports have been unconfirmed.
According to Rustin Dodd and Maria Torres at the Kansas City Star, Ventura crashed his vehicle after departing from Patronales 2017, an annual festival honoring Our Lady of Altagracia, the patron saint of the Dominican Republic. He lost control of his vehicle in the town of Juan Adrian, destroying a guard rail. The speed limit was just 15 mph in a mountainous area.

“It’s an open road,” Mateo Moquete said in a phone interview. “It’s in excellent shape. But it does take you through a mountainous area, so you have to drive with caution.”
Foggy conditions are believed to have been a factor. Dominican officials reported no signs of alcohol at the scene of the crash, although toxicology reports will provide more conclusive evidence.

Pitchers and Catchers reporting everywhere in the next 48... if they haven't already... so ready for baseball.

We've been talking of driving out to Arizona for some Spring Training this year... The Angels had it one year in Palm Springs in the early 90's, went to that but haven't been since. Anyone ever go? Thoughts?? I hear Tempe Diablo Stadium is nice but you don't have the access to the players that you do at other SP venues...

Dude... you're due for a bad decade, maybe two.

Sucks that the Cards are in FL. They should team up with the Twinkies and move onto the Salt River Pima Reservation here in Scottsdale.
