Anyone have info on this guy. Blazing speed. Not to many high major offers. A couple Pac12, Purdue. Even if a project, interesting stats.

Yep. I'm thinking he either has no "dance", no hands, or no grades. With that speed I'd expect a ton of offers. Something has to be off.

Hoping one of our members from the fine state of Washington has some insight.

i like him. he does a very good job of setting up and using his blockers.

not sure about the 4.2 speed... but he is definitely the fastest guy on the field in every clip

Something might be up with that 40 time. His Scout profile has a note that his personal best 100m is a 10.65, which is awesome, but one would think a kid with a 4.21 40 could put up a better 100m time. (GAII put up a 10.36 and isn't a sub 4.3 guy). Maybe I am looking too much into that though.

Looking at his jersey, He already knows how to play for the Irish...

Watching those clips, he has another gear that most players dont have. Freakish speed.

Agree, very fast, but not feeling 4.21. In the second clip, it seemed he shifted up a gear twice. I'll take him even if he's only a 4.4 :)

I was wrong though in an earlier comment. He can dance, and actually looks to have good field vision. Very few highlights of him catching, but one stood out were he used his body very well and looked to be physical. The only thing left is grades. Someone prove that false and let's get this kid an offer!

no way that 40 time is legit... He would be the fastest football player in the country for all leagues i believe. Definitely the fastest guy on the field though... looks a little small, what are his measurements (no homo)

He apparently ran a 10.50 100m, and a 21.41 200m this season in track. That is quick.

He also, according to Scout (which also lists his 4.21 40y time..) he ran a 6.71 60m--the fastest in the country.

Lets get this guy a real profile.

I don't ever remember seeing the fb and tb being that close together in the I.

Go for it

Go for it

I personally would take a shot at this kid. I read that the University of Washington is about to offer, but Tatum seems to have a high degree of interest in ND. He said he wishes to play slot receiver in college, not running back. Maybe this is why ND has not offered. Below is an article from SB Nation that some of you may be interested in.

SB Nation

Running Back Tatum Taylor from O'Dea HS is one of the top players in Washington state in the Class of 2013. Here's an interview with him covering his success as a player and his future on the gridiron.

Oct 20, 2011 - This Thursday, two of 3A's top football teams will face off against each other. The No. 2 undefeated O'Dea Fighting Irish (7-0) will be battling the No. 8 ranked Seattle Prep Panthers (7-0) for the Metro Mountain regular season title. Junior running back Tatum Taylor is one of the most electrifying players in the state, helping make O'Dea's offense one of the most explosive in the entire state. View his highlight tape here.

Tell me about your season so far. How's the team doing? How have you performed individually so far?
The teams doing really good. We are becoming a team and one big game that showed our development was the Eastside Catholic game. It made us come together as one. I have performed well, I try not worry about my stats until after the season, but right now I have 53 carries with 695 yards and 13 touchdowns.

What's it like playing in an offense with multiple running backs?
It's fun to play in a two running back system. It's hard for other teams to try and strategize against us. It makes the game easier for both of us and helps us perform better.

Do you guys have pretty similar running styles? What makes you two different?
He is more of the power back that likes to run through the middle. I'm more of a speed and elusive type of back who breaks long plays. So far nine out of thirteen of my touchdowns have been runs longer than 15 yards.

Sort of like Reggie Bush and LenDale White?
Yes.

What's it like to play under such a prestigious program with so much success and tradition? Do you feel any pressure to perform?
It's a great honor to play in a program like O'Dea. I try to value it each and every time I step up on the field. No, there is no pressure playing in a program like this. The coaches do a good job each and every week preparing us for the game.

You're having a great football season, but you have also achieved success on the track. Do you plan on running in the spring again?
Yes, I'm looking forward to running in next years track season. Hopefully I can accomplish winning the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay at state.

I'm guessing the goal is to earn an athletic scholarship to play football or run track somewhere?
Yes I would like to get a full ride football scholarship and walk on to the track team. But whatever comes, comes.

What do you need to improve most on to become a better running back?
The thing I need to improve on most at running back is my footwork. Sometimes I have a tendency to rely on my speed and not use my fundamentals and footwork.

How's your recruitment coming along? Have any schools contacted you yet?
Yes, recruiting is going very well in both track and football. In track Alabama and WSU have shown interest. In football, Oregon, Notre Dame, and WSU have all shown interest.

Can I get a hot tub... give the guy a darn offer. Small risk, great reward if he can develop. If this is not potential, I don't know what is... And he's already part of the Fighting Irish

If I had to guess why he doesn't yet have an offer, I would go one of three reasons:

1 - Staff has questions about his size (he looks ripped but very skinny).
2 - Staff questions his level of competition (3A).
3 - We are running low on scholarships and he might be there for the taking even if we wait.

Wouldn't mind offering him as purely a KR specialist, but I think we will wait to see if we have room.
